Abstract: A cleaning composition including a metal bisulfate and metal inorganic salt acid package, and at least one surfactant. The cleaning composition can be a one-step wheel cleaner/brightener. The composition preferably contains no HF, no bifluoride, no oxalic acid, or other poisonous and highly toxic materials commonly found in both industrial and consumer wheel cleaners. Further, the wheel cleaner/brightener composition matches or exceeds the performance of those hazardous formulations and does not damage aluminum wheels even when applied to hot metal. The composition can be a foam composition, provided in a foam dispenser. The foam dispenser includes a container and a mechanical foaming head. The container includes a cleaning composition containing a metal bisulfate and metal sulfate acid package, and at least one surfactant, water, and a foam-boosting solvent.

Abstract: The warewashing detergent composition includes a cleaning agent, an alkaline source, and a corrosion inhibitor. The cleaning agent compises a detersive amount of a surfactant. The alkaline source is provided in an amount effective to provide a use composition having a pH of at least about 8. The corrosion inhibitor includes a source of aluminum ion and a source of zinc ion. The relative amounts of the source of zinc ion and the source of alunminum ion can be controlled to reduce visible filming when the warewashing detergent composition is used in the presence of hard water. Methods for using and manufacturing a warewashing detergent composition are provided.

Abstract: A detergent composition is provided according to the invention. The detergent composition includes a branched alcohol alkoxylate having the formula wherein R is a C-C alkyl, R is H or a C-C alkyl, n is 2-20, and m is 1-40, and a compatibililizing surfactant. The compatibilizing surfactant can be selected so that an aqueous composition containing 5 wt.% of the branched alcohol alkoxylate and at least 2.5 wt.% of the compatibilizing surfactant provides a clear aqueous composition. A clear aqueous composition refers to an aqueous composition that is free of haze visible to the naked eye. In general, a clear aqueous composition resembles a composition containing only water. A method for using the detergent composition is provided.

Abstract: A pseudo-stable phase-splitting solvent composition that forms a single liquid phase when subjected to mild agitation and retains that single phase while the composition is applied to a surface, but which forms two or more laminar liquid phases promptly after being applied. A concentrated solvent film forms on the surface, under a film containing the other phase. The solvent preferably is denser than water, and the composition preferably is diluted with water. This enables the solvent to attack the surface at near full strength, and provides a water seal over the solvent film. The solvent composition can be used full strength or in diluted form for cleaning, reducing the microbial population of, or degreasing a variety of surfaces, and for stripping a variety of difficult-to-remove coatings from surfaces.
