    Abstract: A biological pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass and a saccharification method are provided to optimize the efficiency of pretreatment and saccharification and produce the biomass with high yield.     Abstract: A composition for lowering cholesterol containing Plantago asiatica essential oil is provided to perform oxygen-resistant using steam distillation, to lower cholesterol and to prevent or cure arteriosclerosis. A composition for lowering cholesterol contains Plantago asiatica essential oil as an effective component. The Plantago asiatica essential oil is extracted by using a steam distillation method, and includes a linalool as a main volatile refined oil material, fenchyl alcohol, bicyclogermacrene, menthen-2,3-diol and eugenol.
