    Abstract: PURPOSE: A producing method of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde using garlic is provided to enable users to easily obtain the high purity 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde with the high yield. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde using garlic comprises the following steps: high-temperature aging the garlic at 70-90 deg C for 15-40 days by sealing the garlic with a polyethylene film; hot-water extracting the aged garlic; filtering and concentrating the garlic hot-water extract; fractionating the concentrated garlic hot-water extract using ethyl acetate or butanol; separating and purifying the obtained fractions; and freeze-drying the fractions. The concentration of the garlic hot-water extract is processed by using a rotational vacuum concentrator. The fractionating process of the concentrated garlic hot-water extract is performed by using the high-performance liquid chromatography of the reverse-phase column chromatography method.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An antiviral protein CAP30 separated from Chenopodium album var. is provided, which can be used as antiviral bioagricultural drugs or human antiviral medicines. The gene encoding the antiviral protein CAP30 is sequenced and its nucleotide sequence is represented by sequence ID No. 1.
