    Abstract: A foreign substance detection device using terahertz metamaterials according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises terahertz metamaterials reacting in a terahertz frequency region; a terahertz wave generating unit which generates a terahertz frequency and emits the terahertz frequency to the terahertz metamaterials; an extraction unit which extracts a resonant frequency by analyzing the terahertz wave passing through the terahertz metamaterials; and a determination unit which determines that there are foreign substances in the terahertz metamaterials when the extracted resonant frequency is different from a reference resonant frequency.

CONSTITUTION: An ultra fast carbon nano tube saturable absorber for a solid-state laser mode-locking is manufactured by a step of forming a carbon nano tube solution by mixing a single-walled carbon nano tube(SWCNT) produced from an electric discharge to diclobenzene, a step of missing the carbon nano tube solution with polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) to produce a SWCNT/PMMA composite, and a step of forming a thin film with the SWCNT/PMMA composite by a spin coating method on a substrate.
