Abstract: An image signal processing method having a wide dynamic range by a physical property of an image sensor is provided to combine a fast shutter and a slow shutter with one image pickup device to generate two image signals of different exposure times and combine images by using a response property according to luminance of an image sensor, thereby preventing brightness of the entire image from being drastically changed despite a peak value change of the image. A response function is calculated by converting a plurality of images photographed at various exposure times with regard to the same subject into gray level images(S100). An exposure time difference between a long time exposure image and a short time exposure image is set(S200). Two image photographed with regard to the same subject by the exposure time difference are color-converted into a CIE-XYZ space(S300). The two images are converted into a CIE-Yxy again(S400).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for extracting an object from an interest area of an image and a method thereof are provided to automatically extract an interest object within short time if a user sets an interest area in the image. CONSTITUTION: A boundary image generating unit(310) generates a boundary image from an input image. A noise eliminating unit(330) eliminates noise of a boundary from the boundary image. An object distribution chart calculating unit(320) calculates an object marker and a background marker in the interest area of the inputted image. An object/background marker generating unit(350) assigns the object marker and the background marker. An interest object portioning unit(360) partitions an interest object in the image.
