    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the marking of hydrocarbons, by additi on of at least one first marking agent( subsequently referred to as first marki ng agent), characterised in that, in addition, at least one further second marking agent is added to the hydrocarbon, which, under conditions for remov al of the first marking agent, is not completely removable from the hydrocarbon . The invention further relates to hydrocarbons which are to be marked by said method, solutions for marking hydrocarbons, containing at least one first marking agent and at least one second marking agent as defined by the method according to the invention and optionally containing further additives.

    Abstract: Production of microcellular polyurethane elastomers is claimed by reacting (A) high mol. polyhydroxy compounds and optionally (B) low. mol. chain extenders and/or crosslinkers with (C) 3,3'-dimethoxy-4,4'- diisocyanato-diphenyl in presence or absence of (D) catalysts, foaming agents etc.. Preferably the polyhydroxy component (A) is of functionality 2-3 and mol. wt. 500-6,000 and is especially a difunctional polyester polyol, OH-containing polycarbonate or polyoxybutylene glycol of mol. wt. 800-3,500 while the chain extender is an alkane diol, dialkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol of mol. wt. up to 800 and the crosslinker is also of mol. wt. up to 800 and is a tri-or tetra-hydric alcohol or polyoxyalkylene polyol of functionality 3-4. Preparation of the elastomer is by: (1) first preparing a prepolymer of NCO content 2-20 wt.% by reacting (C) with (A) and optionally (B) and then reacting this prepolymer with water and optionally also (B); or (2) first reacting (C) with part of (A) and optionally also (B) and then reacting the prepolymer obtained with a mixture of water, the remainder of (A) and optionally also (B).

    Abstract: In a method of marking hydrocarbons by addition of at least one first marker, at least one second marker which cannot be removed completely from the hydrocarbons under the conditions of the removal of the first marker or markers is additionally added to the hydrocarbons. Hydrocarbons which have been marked by such a method and solutions comprising at least one first marker and at least one second marker as defined in the method of the present invention and also, if desired, further additives for marking hydrocarbons are also provided by the invention.
