Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing polymers containing carbamate units, wherein polyethylene imines or polymers containing vinyl amine units of formula (III) in which R1 = H or C1-C6-alkyl are made to react with halogen formic acid esters. The invention also relates to the use of the polyethylene imines containing carbamate groups thus obtained or polymers containing vinyl carbamate units as retention agents, dehydrating agents, flocculants and fixing agents in the production of paper, as a protective colloid for the production of aqueous alkyl diketene dispersions and as a dispersing agent for the production of accumulated aqueous filling material slurries.

Abstract: Vinyl compounds are stabilized by the addition of optionally substituted ammonium carbonate salts. A vinyl compound based composition (I) comprises: (A) a polymerizable compound containing at least one O-vinyl or N-vinyl group; and (B) an ammonium salt of formula (1) NH4 -OC(=O)-R (I) R = NH2, -O NH4 , 1-8C alkyl, 6-18C cycloalkyl or 7-18C alkylcycloalkyl. Abstract: A self-crosslinking aqueous preparation contains an aqueous dispersion of an anhydride group (AH)-containing copolymer (P); and a crosslinker (A) with a primary and/or secondary amine group (AM). A self-crosslinking aqueous preparation contains (i) an aqueous dispersion of an anhydride group (AH)-containing copolymer (P) obtained by radical aqueous emulsion copolymerisation of ethylenically-unsaturated monomers (M) comprising at least a monomer (M1) which is an anhydride of an unsaturated 3-8C carboxylic acid and a comonomer (M2); and (ii) a crosslinker (A) with a primary and/or secondary amine group (AM), this being (A1) a compound with at least 2 AMs; (A2) a compound with at least 1 AM and a siloxane group; (A3) an aminoalcohol; or (A4) a polymer with AMs. An Independent claim is also included for preparation of the composition by mixing an aqueous dispersion of copolymer (P) with (A), optionally in dissolved or dispersed form.
