Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a solid detergent composition which has good extrusion molding properties and which has high washing efficiency. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a solid detergent composition comprises: (i) combining: (a) 25 to 80 wt% of sodium carbonate; (b) 1 to 30 wt% of aminotri(methylenephosphonate); and (c) 0.9 to 1.3 mol of water per mol of carbonate to form a blended mass; and (ii) adding non-hydrated sodium carbonate and a binding agent comprising mono-hydrated sodium carbonate and aminotri(methylenephosphonate) for solidification. The solid does not contain a source of alkalinity other than sodium carbonate. The blended mass is formed into a solid by extrusion molding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
A product dispenser and carrier (10) for attachment to a surface such as an inner surface of a dryer includes a plate member (11) and a product carrier (21). The plate member (11) attaches to the surface and the product carrier (21) releasably attaches to the plate member (11). Product (31) is operatively connected to the product carrier (21).
Abstract:
A composition for blood-containing soils is provided. The composition is useful in warewashing, hard surface cleaning, laundry, and in cleaning medical, dental, and animal care instruments and implements. A composition of the invention comprises an iron chelant, a reducing agent, and lysing agent. Compositions of the invention may be provided in concentrated form or as ready-to-use solutions and may be provided in liquid, powder, solid, or granulated forms. Optional additional ingredients include but are not limited to surfactants, pH modifiers, viscosity modifiers, water, builders, corrosion inhibitors, threshhold agents, anti-redeposition agents, aesthetic aids, antimicrobial agents, solidification agents, and processing aids. A desirable feature of the invention lies in its ability to clean blood-containing soils at low active concentrations. The invention further provides a method of removing blood-containing soils from a surface including applying a composition to a soil, the composition including an iron sequestrant, a reducing agent, and a lytic agent.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to stabilized peracid compositions. Stabilizing compositions including a metal salt and a chelating agent are added to compositions including peracids. The results stabilized peracid compositions have increased shelf life and storage stability.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a stable cleaning composition including a borate salt and spores (bacterial or fungal), vegetative bacteria, or fungi. The composition can also include a polyol.

Abstract:
Spray-on cleaners that can be delivered by pump or pressurized gas aerosol spray head have been known to cause respiratory distress in the form of a chocking mist. The chocking mist associated with aerosol use can be reduced or eliminated by formulating surface cleaning compositions that can be dispensed through a spray head resulting in an aerosol or mist droplet having a mean particle size greater than about 200 mu m. We have found that typical spray-on cleaners have a mean particle size less than about 175 mu m and, depending on the concentration and degree of irritation of strong base or strong acid components, can cause severe respiratory distress. Preferred thickeners have been found for use in the non-chocking aerosol or mist compositions.
