Abstract: A puncturing system for with-drawing a body fluid from the skin of a human or animal, comprising a disposable puncturing unit (1), which has a needle element (6) for piercing into the skin, a puncturing instrument (2), which includes a puncturing drive (4), by which a puncturing movement of a puncturing unit (1), which is coupled to the puncturing drive (4) by means of a coupling mechanism (3), is driven, a predefined value of the puncturing depth being ensured by means of a puncturing depth reference element (10), which has a skin contact area. (11), and the predefined value of the puncturing depth being determined by the distance in the piercing direction between the skin contact area (11) and the position of the needle tip at the reversal point of the puncturing movement. The puncturing depth reference element (10) is connected to the needle element (6) and coupled to the drive in such a manner that it moves together with the needle element (1) during at least a part of the forward phase and has a defined longitudinal position in the piercing direction in relation to the needle element (6) at least at the reversal point of the puncturing movement.

Abstract: A puncturing device comprising a band-shaped lancet carrier (2) carrying a plurality of lancets (3), a transport mechanism (6,7,8) for positioning the lancets (3) sequentially in a launch position by moving the band-shaped lancet carrier (2), a lancet drive (4) for accelerating a lancet (3) from the launch position for a puncturing movement, the lancet drive (4) comprising an energy storage (12) for providing energy for the acceleration of the lancet (3), a trigger element (10) for triggering the lancet drive (4), and a housing (5) which comprises at least two housing parts and encloses the band-shaped lancet carrier (2) and the lancet drive (4), the housing (5) having an opening (16), against which a body part is pressed for puncturing by a lancet (3). The puncturing device (1) is adapted for disposable use in that the housing parts were irreversibly connected upon enclosing the band-shaped lancet carrier (2) thereby sealing the band-shaped lancet carrier (2) irremovably in the housing (5).

Abstract: The present invention provides a puncturing system for withdrawing body fluid. The puncturing system comprises a disposable puncturing unit, which includes a needle element for piercing into skin and a puncturing depth reference element with a skin contact area. The system includes a puncturing instrument which has a puncturing drive, wherein the puncturing drive is coupled by a coupling mechanism to the puncturing unit for driving the needle element to a puncturing depth, the puncturing depth being determined by the distance in the piercing direction between the skin contact area and the position of the tip of the needle at a reversal point of the puncturing movement. The puncturing depth reference element is connected to the needle element such that the puncturing depth reference element moves with the needle element during at least part of the puncturing movement.
