Abstract: A process for manufacturing packaged lancets, comprising the steps: providing a tape comprising a plurality of lancets comprising a lancet tip and a lancet body, enveloping at least the lancet tip with at least one foil, whereby the at least one foil build a first and a second portion that overlap at least partly, sealing the at least one foil with a laser beam at least at the edges of the first and second portion of the overlapping parts.

Abstract: The system has a transport device bringing lancets (2) consecutively into a usage position by moving a carrier band (1) in a transport direction. A sensor detects position marks (4) in a detection position. A control unit stops the transport device for positioning the lancets in the usage position when the band is moved by a positioning distance starting at a band position. The control unit determines a length of the distance which depends on a distance of the lancets from the detected position mark, using distance value stored on a storage medium for the lancets.
