Abstract: The invention relates to a method for managing flow of people and goods within a building (1) under construction, comprising providing one or more elevator control systems (4,8;4') for automatically controlling movement of elevator cars; providing a first passenger elevator (PEI), the first passenger elevator comprising a first passenger elevator car (3) for transporting people, the first passenger elevator car (3) being vertically movable in an elevator hoistway (2) formed inside the building (1) under construction, vertical movement of the car (3) being automatically controlled by an elevator control system (4;4'), the first passenger elevator car (3) comprising an interior delimited by floor, walls, ceiling and at least one automatic door (5); and providing a goods elevator (GE), the goods elevator comprising a goods elevator car (7) for transporting goods, the goods elevator car (7) being vertically movable beside the first passenger elevator car (3) in an elevator hoistway (6) formed inside the building (1) under construction, vertical movement of the goods elevator car (7) being automatically controlled by an elevator control system (8;4'), the goods elevator car (7) comprising at least a transport platform (7a); using the first passenger elevator (PEI) to transport passengers between floors of the building (1) under construction; and using the goods elevator (GE) to transport goods between floors (FO-Fn) of the building (1) under construction. The invention also relates to an arrangement for managing flow of people and goods within a building (1) under construction, which arrangement implements the method.

Abstract: Abstract The invention is about a rope pulley (2) of an elevator system, which is a free rotating pulley (2) around which a hoisting rope of the elevator system can be guided. Said free pulley is to be mounted to a car sling (1) of an elevator car, wherein the pulley (2) comprises an encoder for measuring the rotation movement of the pulley. The movement data are transmitted to a controller that converts the movement data into position data of the car in the hoistway, while further position data are gathered from identification markers that are installed in the hoistway. At least, the movement data of the rope pulley(s) are calibrated based on the position data from the identification markers. By means of that, the position of the car in the hoistway can be determined accurately and costly. Fig. 1

Abstract: Rail brake (1) for an elevator, comprising a brake body attached to the elevator car, a clamp part comprising jaws (3,4) that engage a guide rail (2) via braking surfaces during braking. A spring (10) generates a load on the clamp part to press the braking surfaces against the guide rail, and a magnet whose force produces an effect reverse to that of the spring releases the braking surfaces from the guide rail. The clamp part is floatably suspended relative to the brake body. The motion of the clamp part relative to the brake body is controlled by the guide rail (2).
