    Abstract: This invention relates to diesel fuels which are useful with diesel engines equipped with exhaust system particulate traps. These fuels contain an effective amount of an organometallic complex to lower the ignition temperature of exhaust particles collected in the trap. The organometallic complex is soluble or stably dispersible in the diesel fuel and is derived from (i) an organic compound containing at least two functional groups attached to a hydrocarbon linkage, and (ii) a metal reactant capable of forming a complex with the organic compound (i), the metal being any metal capable of reducing the ignition temperature of the exhaust particles. The functional groups include =X, -XR, NR2, NO2, NR, NXR, NR*XR, -CN, -N=NR and -N=CR2; wherein X is O or S, R is H or hydrocarbyl, R* is hydrocarbylene or hydrocarbylidene, and a is a number (e.g., zero to about 10). Useful metals include Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, V, Cr, Mo, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, B, Pb, Sb, and mixtures of two or more thereof. This invention is also directed to methods of operating a diesel engine equipped with an exhaust system particulate trap using the foregoing diesel fuel.

    Abstract: This invention relates to combinations of (A) organometallic complexes and (B) antioxidants.     Abstract: Una composicion de grasa biodegradable que comprende el producto de reaccion de una dispersion de particulas de oxido y/o hidroxido metalico con al menos un acido hidroxiestearico y/o ester del mismo y un aceite vegetal, la dispersion que comprende un medio organico y las particulas de oxido y/o hidroxido metalico dispersadas en el medio organico, la dispersion que tiene un contenido de agua de hasta 0,5 % en peso, las particulas que tienen un tamano promedio de particulas en el intervalo de hasta 15 micras, el producto de reaccion que tiene una consistencia de grasa, en donde el producto de reaccion se prepara al mezclar la dispersion, el al menos un acido hidroxiestearico y/o ester del mismo y el aceite vegetal; en donde el metal de las particulas de oxido y/o hidroxido metalico comprende litio; en donde la concentracion de las particulas de oxido y/o hidroxido metalico en la dispersion es de 10 % a 62 % en peso; en donde el aceite vegetal esta presente en la grasa de 45 a 98 por ciento en peso; en donde la dispersion esta presente en la mezcla de reaccion de 1 a 20 por ciento en peso; en donde el acido hidroxiestearico y/o ester del mismo esta presente en la mezcla de reaccion de 1,1 a 35 por ciento en peso; y en donde el contenido de jabon resultante en la grasa es de hasta 45 por ciento en peso.
