    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base metal-processing oil contg. water and a mist- preventive copolymer by copolymerizing a specific hydrophobic monomer and a specific hydrophilic monomer. SOLUTION: A hydrophobic monomer being either an alkylate acrylamide compd. represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or methyl; and R2 and R3 are each H or hydrocarbyl provided their total number of carbon atoms is 2-36) or an acrylic ester represented by formula III (wherein R1 is H or methyl; and R9 is a 1-20C hydrocarbyl) and a hydrophilic monomer selected from among an acrylamidosulfonic acid salt represented by formula III (wherein R4 is H or methyl; and R is a 2-8C aliph. or arom. hydrocarbon group), an acrylamidodisulfonic acid salt represented by formula IV (wherein R4 is H or methyl; and R is a 2-8C aliph. or arom. hydrocarbon group), and a styrenesulfonic acid salt represented by formula V (wherein X is an alkali or alkaline earth metal caiton, etc.) are subjected to free-radical copolymn.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a working fluid which can inhibit mist appearance in metal working application by incorporating water and a copolymer formed from a specific hydrophobic monomer, a specific hydrophilic monomer, and an ethylenically unsatd. branched monomer into the same. SOLUTION: This working fluid contains water and a copolymer which is formed from (A) a hydrophobic monomer comprising an alkyl-substd. acrylamide of formula I and/or an acrylic ester of formula II, (B) a hydrophilic monomer comprising a sulfonic acid (salt) of formula III and/or styrenesulfonic acid or its salt, and (C) an ethylenically unsatd. branched monomer, both the molar ratio of A/B and the amt. of C being specified. In the formulas, R1 is H or CB3 ; R2 and R3 are each H or hydrocarbyl provided the sum of their numbers of carbon atoms is 2 to about 36; R9 is hydrocarbyl or an alkyl- terminated polyether group; X is O or NY; Y is H, 1-18C hydrocarbyl, or -R(-SO3 H)n ; R4 is R1 ; R is a 2 to about 18C aliph. or arom. hydrocarbylene group; and n is 1 or 2. The salt of monomer B is e.g. an alkali or alkaline earth metal salt.

Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ce yZn y sales de amonio, donde el ión amonio está representado por R5R6R7R8N+ donde R4, R5, R6, R7 y R8 son, independientemente, hidrógeno o grupos hidrocarbilo, siempre que el número total de átomos de carbono en un catión amonio no exceda de 21 átomos de carbono.
