Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a rise in the interior temperature of a refrigerator after defrosting when defrosting time is short by judging the amount of frost generation, that is, defrosting time based on time elapsed up to defrost, and reducing compulsory cooling time, and starting defrosting operation, if the time elapsed is longer. CONSTITUTION:A first defrost timer 25 for a defrost control device 24 is designed to integrate both elapsed time and an 'H' signal of a comparator 15. When the integration is completed for a specified time, an 'L' signal is output from a terminal O2 since the elapsed time is shorter than predetermined. At that time, a second defrost timer 26 outputs an 'H' signal from for time T1 since the input of a terminal I3 is 'L'. An OR circuit 16 which receives this input, also outputs this 'H'. More particularly, a transistor 17 is turned ON so as to conduct a relay coil 18 when a relay contact 12 is closed while a compressor 9 and a blower 5 are operated for the time T1 so that a freezing chamber may operate a compulsory cooling action to inhibit a rise in temperature during defrosting time. After the time T1 has elapsed, the second timer 26 outputs an 'H' signal from its terminal O4 so that the compressor 9 and the blower 5 may be tuned OFF, thereby turning ON a defrost heater 11 and starting defrosting operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a space above an ice making pan from becoming humid upon starting ice making and prevent frosting on a partition plate above the ice making pan by providing the partition plate above the ice making pan with an opening. CONSTITUTION:A partition plate 10 defines an ice storage box 6 and an ordinary ice making pan 7. An opening 10a is bored in the partitioning plate 10 provided above the ice making pan 7. According to this constitution, moisture above the ice making pan 7 is discharged from the opening 10a of the partition plate 10 by cold air discharged from the discharging port 5b of a duct 5 upon starting ice making and a humidity above the ice making pan is reduced whereby frosting on the partition plate 10 above the ice making pan can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure vaporizing capacity for defrosting water without blocking dissipation of heat from a compressor and enlarging the volume of a machine room, by a method wherein an approximately boardlike porous member in which the thickness of a plate is gradually increased from an upper end part toward a lower end part is mounted on a vaporizing pan in a manner to be positioned facing the compressor. CONSTITUTION:A vaporizing pan 12 is situated below the outlet end of a drain pipe 9 for defrosting water, and a porous member 13, in which the thickness of a plate is gradually increased from an upper end part toward a lower end part, is situated in the vaporizing pan in a manner to be positioned facing a compressor 11. Thereby, even when impurity, e.g. refuse, dust, is contained in defrosting water and is sucked in the porous member 13 togetherwith the defrosting water, since the member has an enoughly large sectional area, a suction amount is prevented from reduction due to choking. Further, since the thickness of the plate is low in the vicinity of an upper end part where vaporization is promoted through a radiant heat from the compressor 11 and a convection heat, an enough vaporizing amount can be also provided from a surface, not positioned facing the compressor 11 of the porous member 13, through thermal conduction. Especially, since there is no need for a large porous member, convection around the compressor is prevented from being blocked, and there is no need to increase the size of a machine room.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve heat radiation efficiency and prevent strength of a body from being deteriorated by disposing one side of a heat radiation pipe within a double flanges of an outer box and further disposing the other side such that a part of an inside flange is cut out with a part of the outer box into a pipe derivation part, and engaging a reinforcing plate with the pipe derivation part. CONSTITUTION: An inside flange 15-d includes a pipe derivation part 15-e where a part of a side is cut out, and a heat radiation pipe 16 makes contact with an outer box 15 while including an extension part 16-a extending from one side to the back of a middle partition front plate 8, and the other side makes contact with an outer box 15 and is fixed with a hot melt 11. On opposite sides of an upper corner thereof a corner bent part 16-b is formed toward the back of a refrigerator body l and is derived from a folded part 16-e of a corresponding part of the pipe derivation part 15-e to the back of the inside flange 15-d and makes contact with the back of the corresponding part. A reinforcing plate 17 formed with a spring material is engaged with the pipe derivation part 15-e. Thus, in the heat radiation pipe 16 heat is actively transmitted to the outer box 12, but oppositely a heat amount invading into the refrigerator is reduced.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve a heat radiating efficiency of a thermal radiation pipe by a method wherein a fixing fitting formed with a pipe holding part and a guide part is installed at a double flange of an outer box, the radiation pipe is abutted against the rear surface of the double flange of the outer box by this fixing fitting. CONSTITUTION: A fixing fittings 13 is loaded to an inner flange 11-d of an outer box 11 with an engaging section 13-a under utilization of spring force, the radiation pipe 12 is fixed with a pipe holding part 13-b in such a way that it is abutted against the outer box 11 at a rear part of the inner flange 11-d. The guide 13-c formed at the fixing fitting 13 facilitates a prevention of scar of the radiation pipe 12 and its installing operation when the radiation pipe 12 is fixed to it. Further, it is rigidly fixed to the outer box 11 with a thermoplastic resin 14 (hot melt). In this way, since the radiation pipe 12 is directly contacted with the outer box 11 and heat is positively transmitted to the outer box 11 through the hot melt 14, resulting in that an amount of thermal radiation to the surrounding atmosphere is increased, and further a heating calorie entered from either a fold-back flange 11-b or the inner flange 11-d into the refrigerator is reduced.
