PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting reception device improving receiving performance through a selective beamforming function is provided to apply a beamforming method using an array antenna for introducing a spatial signal processing system to an existing time signal processing system, and to remove dynamic multiple paths, thereby improving reception performance of a VSB(Vestigial Side Band) transmission system. CONSTITUTION: An array antenna(210) consists of many antenna elements, and receives digital broadcasting signals. A demodulator(220) demodulates each of the received signals by corresponding to the antenna elements of the array antenna(210). A beamforming unit(230) applies beamforming weight in order to steer for a predetermined direction relating to the modulated signals, and generates predetermined beamforming signals. A beam selector(240) selectively receives signals of a desired direction for the beamforming signals. The array antenna(210) is a linear array antenna having the antenna elements.

PURPOSE: A vergence control system and method according to over sampling and variable addressing and a parallel-axis stereo camera are provided to process input video signals in real time with a simple hardware construction and reduce information loss. CONSTITUTION: A vergence control system(310) includes an analog/digital converter(311), a memory(312), a variable address generator(313), a vertical processor(314) and a vertical interpolator(315). The analog/digital converter performs horizontal over sampling of an image photographed by an external camera. The memory stores the over-sampled image. The variable address generator outputs a vergence-controlled image from the images stored in the memory. The vertical processor receives the vergence-controlled image from the memory to process the image in the vertical direction. The vertical interpolator accepts the vertically processed image and interpolates the image to the size of the photographed image.

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for descrambling transport stream (TS) data, the descrambling apparatus including: a TS packet input unit for determining from the value of a header of TS packet data whether the TS packet data are scrambled, and outputting determination results and the TS packet data; a descramble controller for applying a control signal to the TS packet input unit for the TS packet input unit to read the TS packet data, and outputting a scramble determination signal of a corresponding state based on the determination results; and a descrambler for determining from the state of the scramble determination signal whether the TS packet data from the TS packet input unit are scrambled, and determining whether to descramble the TS packet data.

An MPEG system for processing stereoscopic/multiview three-dimensional video comprises a compressor (10) for processing input stereoscopic/multiview three- dimensional video data to generate field-based elementary streams of multiple channels, and integrating the multi-channel elementary streams into a single-channel elementary stream, a packetizer (20) for receiving the sinlge-channel elementary stream from the compressor (10) per access unit and packetizing the received single-channel elementary streams into a packetized stream, and a transmitter (30) for multiplexing the packetized stream into a multipixed stream for transmitting or storing the same, wherein the multiplexed stream includes viewpoint information including the number of viewpoint that the packetized stream provides.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for processing transport stream in a digital cable broadcasting system and a delay control apparatus therefor are provided to delay all input data for a predetermined time regardless of scrambling. CONSTITUTION: A demultiplexer(100) receives transport streams for dividing the transport streams into scrambled data signals and non-scrambled data signals. A descrambler control unit(200) receives the scrambled data signals from the demultiplexer for descrambling the scrambled data signals. A delay control unit(400) receives the non-scrambled data signals from the demultiplexer and the descrambled data signals from the descrambler control unit for delaying the data signals for a predetermined time before outputting the data signals. A remultiplexer(300) receives the data signals from the delay control unit for multiplexing the data signals and outputting transport stream.

PURPOSE: A system for processing stereoscopic/multiview three-dimensional moving pictures and a method thereof are provided to minimize header information duplication and select data appropriate for the request of a user and a user system environment for streaming the data. CONSTITUTION: A compression layer(10) processes input stereoscopic/multiview three-dimensional moving picture data for generating field unit elementary streams of a plurality of channels, and outputs the elementary streams of the plurality of channels in one integrated stream. A synch layer(20) receives the elementary stream by access units for packetizing the elementary stream. A delivery layer(30) processes the packetized stereoscopic/multiview three-dimensional moving picture data for transmitting or storing the processed stereoscopic/multiview three-dimensional moving picture data.

PURPOSE: A device and a method for synchronizing MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group)-4 data to MPEG-2 data and transmitting the synchronized data are provided to synchronize the MPEG-4 data that are digital audio/video data to the MPEG-2 data that are audio/video data for broadcasting/communication/storage medium, so as to transmit the MPEG-4 data providing an interaction function in real time and enable a random access of a user. CONSTITUTION: An object separating and information generating unit(12) receives mp4 data that is a storing form of MPEG-4 data to extract each MPEG-4 object data, and interprets and separates meta information related to the object data, also generates program information and synchronization information. A packetizing unit(13) converts the MPEG-4 object data into MPEG-2 type packets, using the program information and synchronization information generated in the object separating and information generating unit, to synchronize the MPEG-4 object data extracted from the object separating and information generating unit to MPEG-2 data. And a program multiplexing unit(14) multiplexes the MPEG-4 data packetized in the packetizing unit with the MPEG-2 data.

CONSTITUTION: A method for coding moving picture based on division areas includes the steps of dividing a screen area of input picture into a main screen area and a sub-screen area according to importance of the screen, coding input picture of the main screen area and input picture of the sub-screen area to have different picture quality, combining coding data of the input picture of the main screen area with coding data of the input picture of the sub-screen area, and repeating the second and third steps in a predetermined frame unit including 1 until coding of input picture sequence is finished.
