Abstract: The β-type silicon carbide micropowder is prepared by pyrolysis of the mixt. comprising one or more of the methyl silaalkanes of formula (I) or (II) using a carrier gas. In the formulas, R1,R2 are each methyl or Cl, R3 is H or Cl where the formula (I); R1,R2 are each methyl or H where the formula (III). The concentration of the mixt. of the cpd. (I) and/or the cpd. (II) in the carrier gas is less than 50%. Pref. the carrier gas is argon, H2 or the mixed. gas thereof; the temp. of the pyrolysis is 750-1600 deg.C.

Abstract: The silicon-contg. heterocyclic compound of formula (I) is produced by reacting an organic chloride cpd. of formula (II) having two chloromethyl gps. with a silicon in the presence of 5-15 wt.% copper as a catalyst, 0.1-2.0 wt.% cadmium, lead, zinc, silver, manganese, magnesium or chromium as a promotor at 240-370 deg.C in the fluidized or stirred tank reactor. In the formulas, R is -CH2-CH2-, (a) or (b). The compound 9I) is used as a starting material in the manufacture of silicon polymers.

Abstract: A phosphonate cpd. of formula (III) is prepd. by reacting a dialkyl phosphite of formula (I) with an unsaturated hydrocarbon cpd. of formula (II) in the presence of a mixed catalyst of tertiary ethylamine and trialkyl chlorosilane, and a solvent of acetonitrile or toluene. Thus, poly(dimethylsiloxyphosphate) was reacted with 1,3,5-tricyanomethyl- hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine in BF3-ether for 2hr at 45±5↿C to give 74% (I)(R=CN).
