PURPOSE: A Panax species plant extract having the increased content of ginsenoside Rg5 and Rk1 by microwave irradiation, a manufacturing method thereof, and a composition containing the processed Panax species plant extract are provided to enhance an effect of Rg5 and Rk1 compared to an extract by simple thermal-processing. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a Panax species plant extract comprises: a step of irradiating Panax species plants or an extract thereof with microwaves. The Panax species plant or the extract contains more than 90% of Rg3, Rk1, and Rg5 to the weight of ginsenoside Rb1, Rc, Rb2, Rd, Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5. The microwave irradiation is performed at 150-190 deg. C for 30-90 minutes while pressurizing. The microwave irradiation is performed under 2-100 atmospheric pressure.
