Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for reducing noxious materials with a muffler is provided to reduce the emission and the noise of an engine by possessing both functions of the muffler and a plasma reactor. CONSTITUTION: A device for reducing noxious materials with a muffler(100) comprises a housing(10) a plurality of chambers(11,12,13) are formed in, the muffler installed at the housing and having pipes(21,22,23,24) making an exhaust gas discharged from an engine to circulate through the chambers, and a plasma reactor(200) installed at the housing to be communicated with the pipe and reducing the noxious materials contained in the circulated exhaust gas. The chambers are composed of a first, second and third chamber(11,12,13). A plurality of holes(21a,22a) are formed at the pipes(21,22) installed at the second chamber(12) for the exhaust gas to be flowed through.

Abstract: An air cleaning system for a vehicle is provided to perform an air cleaning mode generating anion, a sterilizing mode generating anion, cation, and ozone using one reactor and to enable automatic conversion of the modes depending on the condition of air in the vehicle. An air cleaning system for a vehicle comprises an ozone sensor(100), a pollution sensor(200), a power control module(400), a reactor(500), and a central processing unit(300). The ozone sensor senses the concentration of ozone in the vehicle. The pollution sensor senses air pollution degree in the vehicle. The power control module receives a predetermined voltage from a battery of the vehicle to convert and output it into an output voltage equivalent to a first operation mode generating anion, or a second operation mode generating anion, cation, and ozone. The reactor receives the output from the power control module to generate anion when the first operation mode is selected and generate cation when the second operation mode is selected by plasma discharge. The central processing unit controls operations of the power control module.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A flat-dielectric-type plasma reactor is provided to reduce the particulate materials and gaseous materials by making streamer discharge and glow discharge coexistent. CONSTITUTION: A flat-dielectric-type plasma reactor(100) has a space by forming a spacer(30) between one dielectric substance(10) and another dielectric substance(20). A discharge electrode(40) having a through hole(41) is prepared in one dielectric substance. An earth electrode panel(21) is prepared in the other dielectric substance. An electric field is formed between the discharge electrode and the earth electrode panel. Upon increasing voltage higher than the voltage applied from glow discharge, streamer discharge is generated and then glow discharge is formed. Thus, the streamer discharge and glow discharge coexist.
