Abstract: Biodegradable polyether esters P1 obtainable by the reaction of a mixture consisting essentially of: (a1) a mixture essentially of 20 to 95 mol% adipic acid or ester-forming derivatives thereof or mixtures thereof, 5 to 80 mol% terephthalic acid or ester-forming derivatives thereof or mixtures thereof, and 0 to 5 mol% of a sulphonate group-containing compounds in which the sum of the individual mol percentages is 100; and (a2) a mixture of dihydroxy compounds consisting essentially of (a21) 15 to 99 mol% of a dihydroxy compound selected from the group consisting of C2-C6 alkane diols and C5-C10 cycloalkane diols; (a22) 85 to 0.2 mol% of an ether function-containing dihydroxy compound as in formula I HO-[(CH2)n-O]m-H in which n is 2, 3 or 4 and m is a whole number from 2 to 250, or mixtures thereof, in which the molar ratio of (a1) to (a2) is in the range from 0.4:1 to 1.5:1 with the proviso that the polyether esters P1 have a molar weight (Mn) in the range from 5,000 to 80,000 g/mol, a viscosity index in the range from 30 to 450 g/ml (measured in o-dichlorobenzole/phenol (weight ratio 50/50) at a concentration of 0.5 wt.% polyether esters P1 at a temperature of 25 DEG C) and a melting point in the range from 50 to 200 DEG C, and with the further proviso that from 0.01 to 5 mol%, in relation to the molar quantity of the components (a1) used, of a compound D with at least three groups capable of ester formation are used to produce the polyether esters P1, and other biodegradable polymers and thermoplastic moulding compounds, process for their production and biodegradable mouldings, adhesives, foams and blends with starch obtainable from the polymers or moulding compounds of the invention.

Abstract: Amphiphilic polyesters having (a) ester units of polyalkylene glycols with a molar mass of 500 to 7,500 and aliphatic bicarboxylic acids and/or monohydroxy monocarboxylic acids and (b) ester units obtained from aromatic bicarboxylic acids and polyvalent alcohols and with molar masses of 1,500 to 25,000; process for producing the amphiphilic polyesters by polycondensation, in which first of all (a) aliphatic polyesters of polyalkylene glycols with a molar mass of 500 to 7,500 are produced with aliphatic bicarboxylic acids and/or monohydroxy monocarboxylic acids and then, in the aliphatic polyesters thus obtained, (b) aromatic polyesters are produced from aromatic bicarboxylic acids and polyvalent alcohols; the polycondensation sequence is reversed or oligomeric aromatic polyesters (b) are condensed with oligomeric aliphatic polyesters (a); and the use of the amphiphilic polyesters as additives in washing agents, other washing agent additives and washing after treatment agents.

Abstract: Water-soluble copolymers having a K value of from 15 to 120 (determined according to H. Fikentscher in an aqueous solution of their sodium salt at 25 DEG C., a pH of 7 and a polymer concentration of the Na salt of 1% by weight) contain, in polymerized form, (a) not less than 80 mol % of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C6-monocarboxylic acids, (b) from 0.5 to 20 mol % of a comonomer which possesses two or more ethylenically unsaturated, non-conjugated double bonds and one or more -CO-OX groups and/or their salt with an alkali metal, ammonium or alkaline earth metal base, and, if required, (c) not more than 10 mol % of one or more comonomers which differ from (b) and possess two or more ethylenically unsaturated, non-conjugated double bonds, and the said copolymers are prepared by copolymerization of the monomers (a), (b) and, if required (c) in aqueous solution and are used for coating seed.

Abstract: Reaction products from polybasic carboxylic acids- and amino groups-containing compounds are obtained by heating mixtures of (a) polybasic carboxylic acids from the group composed of citric acid, isocitric acid, aconitic acid, itaconic acid and/or tartaric acid and (b) amino group-containing compounds, at a molar ratio of (a):(b) from 1:0.1 to 1:10 at temperatures of at least 80 DEG C. Also disclosed is a process for preparing these polymer reaction products, as well as their use as additives for phosphate-poor and phosphate-free washing and cleaning agents.

(X = H, alkali or alkaline earth metal equiv. or NH4). Specifically, (A) may also include 0.05-10% at least one comonomer, other than (IV), having at least 2 non-conjugated ethylenic double bonds.

Abstract: The use of polycationic condensation products which can be obtained by condensing (a) piperazine, 1-alkyl piperazines with 1-25 C atoms in the alkyl group, 1,4 dialkyl piperazines with 1-25 C atoms in the alkyl group, 1,4-bis -(3-aminopropyl) -piperazine, 1-(2-aminoethyl)piperazine, 1-(2-hydroxyalkyl)piperazines with 2-25 C atoms in the alkyl group, imidazole, C1-C25 - alkyl imidazoles or mixtures of cited compounds with (b) alkyl dihalogenides, epihalogenohydrines and/or bis-epoxides in a molar ratio 1 : 0.8 - 1 : 1.1 and possibly quaternization of condensation products with C4-C25 alkylation agents or by heating triethanolamine or triisopropanolamine in the presence of acid catalysts and quaternization of condensation products with C4-C25 alkylation agents as colour fixing agents for detergents and detergent after-treatment agents. Also disclosed are detergents containing i) at least 1-50 wt % of a non ionic tenside ii) 0 - 4.0 wt % of an ionic tenside and iii) 0.05 - 2.5 wt % of polycationic condensation products in the form of an additive inhibiting the running of colours and reducing colour loss, and detergent after-treatment agents containing a fabric softener, a non ionic tenside and O.1 - 2.5 wt % of cited polycationic condensation products.
