Abstract: An ethylene terpolymer wax comprises units derived from ethylene (40-95 wt.%), units derived from at least one anhydride of 4-10C-dicarboxylic acid having ethylenic carbon-carbon double bond (0.1-40 wt.%), and units derived from ester having a molecular weight of up to 20000 g/moles (0.1-40 wt.%). R1 = H, 1-10C alkyl, 3-12C cycloalkyl, or 6-14C aryl (preferably H or Me); R2 = 1-10C alkyl, 3-12C cycloalkyl, or 6-14C aryl (preferably Me) An Independent claim is also included for preparation of ethylene terpolymer wax by polymerizing ethylene, ester (I), and anhydride of 4-10C dicarboxylic acid at 500-4000 bars and 170-300degreesC.

Abstract: A zwitterionic polyamine comprising a linear or branched hydrophobic polyamine backbone having 2 to 10 tertiary amino nitrogen atoms and a spacer between two tertiary nitrogen atoms wherein the spacer is, for example selected from C8-C16-alkylene, C5-C15-cyloalkylene, wherein in formula (IV) R = C1- to C22-alkyl or C7-C22-aralkyl and n = 3 to 6, at least one tertiary amine end group of the polyamine backbone contains two groups having formula (V) or (VI), wherein A means an ethylene oxide unit, a propylene oxide unit, a unit of butylene oxides and a tetrahydrofuran unit, n is a number of from 1 to 50, X is an anionic group such as -SO3M, with the proviso that in formula (VI) one X may also be hydrogen and M is hydrogen, alkali metal or ammonium, or contains one group of formula (V) or (VI) and one group selected from radicals consisting of formula (VII), C1- to C22-alkyl and C7-C22-aralkyl, the meaning of A and n is the same as in formula (V) or (VI), said zwitterionic polyetherpolyamine having a molecular weight up to 9000 and optionally containing up to 100 % of the nitrogen atoms quaternized, and a process for the production of zwitterionic polyamines by alkoxylating said polyamines, introducing anionic groups into the alkoxylated polyamines and optionally quaternizing them before or after the introduction of anionic groups. The zwitterionic polyamines are used in detergents.

Abstract: A process for producing thin absorbent planar structures which may be used in hygiene products such as diapers, incontinence products, wound contact materials or sanitary napkins to absorb body fluids, comprises the steps of: A) producing a mixture of an adhesive in dispersion form and a particulate absorbent by fluidizing the components, B) applying the mixture of adhesive and absorbent uniformly to the surface of one side of a first planar backing material, C) one side of a second planar backing material is applied to the mixture of adhesive and absorbent that is present on the surface of one side of the first planar backing material, so producing a sandwichlike intermediate, and D) the sandwichlike intermediate is processed to the end product at a temperature of at least 90° C., a pressure of from 4 to 50 bar, and a pressing time of from 0.5 to 5 min.
