Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing paper, paperboard and cardboard by dehydrating paper material containing interfering substances in the presence of fixing agents. Reaction products are used as fixing agents. Said products are obtained by reacting polymers, containing amino and/or ammonium groups, from the group of: polymers containing vinyl amino units, polyalkylene polyamines, polyamidoamines, polyamidoamines grafted with ethylene imine and optionally cross-linked, polydiallydldimethylammoniumchlorides; polymers containing dialkylaminoalkylacrylamide-units or dialkylaminoalkylmethacrylamide units and polyallylamines and dicyandiamide-formaldehyde-condensates, with reactive sizing agents for paper with a polymer/reactive sizing agent weight ratio of 15,000 : 1 to 1 : 1. The invention also relates to reaction products thus obtained and to their use as fixing agents for water soluble and water insoluble interfering substances in the production of paper, paperboard and cardboard from paper materials containing interfering substances.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing high dry strength paper, paperboard or cardboard by separately adding a vinyl amine unit-containing polymer and a polymeric anionic compound to a paper pulp, draining the paper pulp and drying the paper products. The inventive method is characterized by using at least one copolymer as the polymeric anionic compound which is obtained by copolymerizing (a) at least one N-propenoic acid amide of formula (I), wherein R1, R2 = H or C1 to C6 alkyl, (b) at least one acid group-containing monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and/or the alkali metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts or ammonium salts thereof and optionally (c) other monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, and optionally (d) compounds that comprise at least two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds in the molecule.

Abstract: Additional cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the components containing the aqueous elutriate of fine particle fillers, before sheet formation. Materials added to the fibrous suspension do not include any ester of unsaturated carbonic acids with quaternated amino alcohols, as structural components. The cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the fibrous suspension directly after addition of components containing the aqueous elutriate of fine particle fillers. Cationic and/or amphoteric polymer(s) are added to the fibrous suspension in quantities of 0.0001 to 1 wt%, based on the dry matter content of the papermaking suspension. In paper made as described, the filler content is 3-45 wt%, based on the dry matter content of the papermaking suspension. An independent claim is included for paper made as described.
