Abstract: Dyeing or printing of cellulose fibres or their blends with synthetic fibres, with mixts. contg. (A) a water-insoluble dye, (B) a water-soluble solvent for the dye and swelling agent for the cellulose fibres, (C) water and (D) 0.5-5 wt. % reaction prod. from condensn. of 8-20C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and 1-6C primary or sec. hydroxyalkyl amine, subsequently reacted with 0.5-6 (1-4) mols. propylene oxide or butylene oxide. Use of (D) instead of similar condensn. prods. reacted with =20 mols ethylene oxide, as claimed in the parent patent, gives a further increase in dye yield and in brilliance and fastness of the shade obtd. Stble dye baths and printing pastes are obtd.

Abstract: Method for prodn. of aq. dispersns. of polyolefin, fibrides by dispersing fibrides of aliphatic olefin polymers, opt. in admixt. with cellulose fibres, in water in the presence of a dispersing agent comprising cpds. of formula (I) or salts (b): (where R' = satd. or olefinically unsatd. C7 to C25 alkyl grp., R2 = OH, NH2, R4 = H, CH3; R5 = CH3, C2H5; n = 0 to 50; m = 0 to 15; x = Cl, Br, I or OSO3CH3). The aqs. dispersions may be used to prod. surface structures similar to paper and textiles. The dispersns. cause almost no foam in paper machines and the bonding between synthetic short fibres and those of cellulose is not disadvantageously influenced.

Abstract: Mixt. of useful in textile reviving compsns. consists of (a) 1 part amine oxide of formula R'CONH-(CH2)n-NR2R3 right arrow O (1) (where R1 is satd. or ethylenically unsatd. opt. OH-substd. 15-17C aliphatic gP. R2 and R3 are 1-3C aliphatic gps. and n is integer 2 to 5) and (b) 1-2 parts solvent of formula R4O(CHR5CHR6O)mH (II) where R4 is H or 1-4C alkyl, and R5 and R6 are H or Me, provided at least one is H, and m is 1 or 2). Mixt. is pref. used as an aq. soln. pref. contg. 15-25 wt. % (I) and 20-40 wt. % (II). Used for softening and anti-electrostatic finishing of textile fibres and fabrics, esp. acrylonitrile polymers but also polyesters and cotton. (I) and (II) are miscible with water in all proportions, conc. solns. are stable to storage and only need diluting with cold water, both anti-electrostatic and reviving effects are excellent.
