    Abstract: Test element for the determination of an analyte, comprising a coenzyme dependent enzyme or a substrate of the enzyme, and a coenzyme compound (I) and its salt or optionally its reduced form, is new. A : adenine or their analog; T : O or S; U 1> : OH, SH, BH 3 -> or BCNH 2 ->; V 1> : OH or phosphate group; W 1> : COOR, CON(R) 2, COR, CSN(R) 2; R : H or 1-2C-alkyl; X 1, X 2 : O, CH 2, CHCH 3, C(CH 3) 2, NH or NCH 3; Y 1> : NH, S, O or CH 2; Z : cyclic group with 5C atom optionally substituted with heteroatom of O, S or N and CR 4, where C(R 4) 2 is a cyclic group with X 2; and R 4 : H, F, Cl or CH 3. Where Z and pyridine are not connected by a glycosidic bond. Independent claims are included for: (1) a pyridine compound (I); (2) an enzyme-coenzyme-complex comprising (I) in combination with an enzyme; (3) a reagent kit comprising (I), optionally an enzyme or enzyme complex and optionally a reaction buffer; and (4) a method for the determination of analyte comprising contacting the sample with the test element or reagent kit comprising coenzyme, and detecting the analyte.
