Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a drag operation by providing an integrated pointing device and at least one click button. SOLUTION: When this device is slid backward with a button 62 pressed down by a user's thumb, a 1st horizontal rib 80 which exists under a flange 82 of a frame 20 is moved, and keeping a whole click button member 38 pressed down locks the device in its on state. At this time, a 2nd horizontal rib 86 which extends forward from the button 62 is simultaneously slid backward from a bottom face of a wrist support part 20a, thereby, appearing a top face 88 to which is added the bright color of the rib 86. The user can recognize the lock on state by the downward slant of the member 38 and the appearance of a brightly colored top face 88. While the member 38 is locked in its drag position, the user can drag an icon, etc., on a display with a joy stick, etc.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard incorporated coordinate indication device containing an input function corresponding to the third key of a mouse. SOLUTION: In the keyboard incorporated coordinate indication device, an input part corresponding to the third key 30 is added to a track point 40 as a base. Respective key tops are arranged on a keyboard unit 100 in a 'QWERTY' array system. The stick-like track point 40 is provided in a position corresponding to the home position of a keyboard. A palm rest is provided in front of the space key in the forefront of the keyboard, and first and second keys 10 and 20 are provided in an almost central part of this side. A third key 30 is provided without a gap before and behind on this side of the first and second keys 10 and 20. The third key 30 has width equal to the total of the first and second keys 10 and 20. A projection for resting the finger by a user at the time of an operation is protrusively provided in the center of the front edge part of the first or third key 10 or 30. The projection of the third key 30 is formed to be lower than the first and second keys 10 and 20.

SOLUTION: In a notebook-sized PC (personal computer) 11 with a monitor unit 12 and a main body unit 13 where the monitor unit 12 is connected through a hinge part 16 to the main body unit 13, a part of a front part 13b of the main body unit 13 is formed as an attachable and detachable keyboard 19 while a battery unit 26 being a heavy portion being an element to be incorporated in the main body unit 13 is receptible in the other part of the front part 13b. In this case, even when the keyboard 19 is removed from the main body unit 13, the battery unit 26 being the heavy portion still exists in the part where the keyboard 19 is removed so that it is possible to resist gravity or moment acting from the monitor unit 12 through the hinge part 16 on the main body unit 13 with the weight of the battery unit 26. Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a portable information processor applicable to an overhead projector by substituting a liquid crystal panel for foil. CONSTITUTION: A portable information processor has a body 10 having a keyboard at its upper face part, and a lid 50 having a liquid crystal display panel 52 on the inside. The lid 50 is composed of a driving circuit for driving the liquid crystal display panel 52, a lid surface part back-lighted and including a frame member hinge-connected to the body 10, and a lid rear face part including a light diffusion plate and a covering member. The lid rear face part is removable from the lid surface part. This portable information processor can be applied to OHP equipment in the integrated form of the body 10 and lid 50 by opening the lid 50 from the body 10 and removing the lid rear face part, that is, additional device and parts are not needed to be applied to the OHP equipment.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily accommodate cables by providing an engaging mechanism for removably engaging the end part of the cable to a body. CONSTITUTION: An engaging mechanism 6 is formed of a DC terminal 3 at the end part of a DC cable 2 and a recess 100 of a first flange 1A. A recess 10 is formed by cutting out one side of a first flange 1A and a DC connector socket 33 of the DC terminal 3 is just accommodated in the recess 100. Moreover, a window 9 communicated with the recess 100 is formed to the first flange 14, along the longitudinal direction of the recess 100. When a DC connector socket 33 is to be accommodated in the recess 100, the DC connector socket 33 is placed within the recess 100, while the end point 31 of plug is inserted to the window 9. Thereby the cables can be accommodated easily.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize keyboard lighting which saves the space and has small power consumption, is usable even by battery driving, and exerts no adverse effect on a display device by irradiating a keyboard with the light emitted by an LED through an opening part. SOLUTION: When a computer 10 is used, a rear cover 105 is opened and stopped at 90 deg. or more and the keyboard 103 is operated while looking at an LCD. The computer 100 is provided internally with an LED holder 150 holding the LED for keyboard lighting and an LED switch 113. An opening part is formed in the bottom of the LED holder 150; and part of the light emitted by the LED is cut off by the bottom part and the rest is emitted out of the LED holder 150 through the opening part. While the rear cover 105 is opened, the LED is turned on by operating the switch 113 to light up the keyboard 103.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely hold a cover body at a prescribed opening degree without enlarging the size of the whole of an information processor. SOLUTION: The light transmission plate of an LCD unit 20 has a wedge shape (thin part 22A). A pair of hinges 26 which connect the cover body to a device main body so that it can turn are arranged in a space part formed between the thin part 22A and a rear cover. The hinges 26 are constituted by winding the torque plate 30B of the other fitting piece 39 to a shaft 36 fixed to one fitting piece 28. Thus, the hinges 26 can generate a small and high torque when compared with the hinge of a torque plate press contact type. Thus, the cover body can securely be held at the prescribed opening degree without enlarging the size of the whole.
