    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide external preparation for skin which has excellent skin persistence and transdermal absorption of the physiologically active substances and can sustain the efficacy for hours. CONSTITUTION:The preparation contains, as active ingredients, 0.01 to 40wt.% of organopolysiloxane of formula I and formula II (R , R are 1 to 4 C alkyl; R is 1 to 40C alkyl, alkenyl, fluoroalkyl; R is 7 to 40C alkyl, alkenyl, fluoroalkyl; l is 2 or more; m is 3 or more; l+m is 5 to 6,000) and physiologically active substances. As a physiologically active substance, are cited corticosteroids, non-steroids, antibiotics, bactericides, fungicides, vitamins, antihistamines, and local anesthesia. They can be prepared in the form of emulsion, dispersion, two-layered or solubilized preparations. When it is applied to the skin, the active substances can stay on the application sites without dissipation from the skin surface by sweat, skin lipid, washing or friction and develop the medicinal effect for many hours. Since it has high moisture retention, the preparation is particularly useful for xerotic skin diseases.

CONSTITUTION:(A) At least one compound selected from L-ascorbic acid and water-soluble L-ascorbic acid derivatives (for example, a monovalent to trivalent metal salt of L-ascorbic acid ester with phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid and (B) Puerariae Radix extract, for example, the extract of the roots with a solvent such as water, ethanol, methanol, 1,3-butylene glycol and/or propylene glycol, or the powder prepared by drying the extract or isoflavon derivatives isolated from the extract are combined in such amounts as A=0.001 to 30wt.%, preferably 0.1 to 5wt.%, B=0.001 to 10wt.%, preferably 0.01 to 5wt.% to give the objective skin-whitening cosmetic having the above-stated effects.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain toilet water having refreshing feeling of use while possessing excellent humectant properties without any skin irritation or odor due to a monohydric lower alcohol. The concentrations of the ingredients are preferably 0.1-40wt.%, especially 2-20wt.% ingredient (A), preferably 0.01-1.0wt.%, especially 0.03-0.3wt.% ingredient (B) and preferably 0.1-1.0wt.%, especially 0.04-0.4wt.% ingredient (C). This toilet water is excellent in humectant properties, good in feeling of use with no irritancy or stickiness and useful as a nonalcohol and nonoil cosmetic.
