One embodiment of the invention comprises a method for performing position location comprising the steps of receiving signal samples, generating a coarse acquisition sequence, rotating the coarse acquisition sequence yielding a rotated coarse acquisition sequence, and applying the rotated coarse acquisition sequence to the signal samples at a set of time offsets yielding correlated output data.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, a method and apparatus of communicating between at least one base station and a core network is claimed. Signaling messages and voice streams are transported using packet-switched protocols (IP). A CIC field (Circuit Identity Code) is used to identify at least one VoIP streams. The CIC field may be interpreted as a UDP port number for the voice over IP stream. Also, a synchronization source or contributing source filed of a RTP header may be used as the CIC field (fig. 1).

Abstract: A data Interface for transferring digital data between a host and a client over a communication path using packet structures linked together to form a communication protocol for communicating a pre-selected set of digital control and presentation data. The signal protocol is used by link controllers configured to generate, transmit, and receive packets forming the communications protocol, and to form digital data into one or more types of data packets, with at least one residing in the host device and being coupled to the client through the communications path. The interface provides a cost-effective, low power, bi-directional, high-speed data transfer mechanism over a short-range "serial" type data link, which lends itself to implementation with miniature connectors and thin flexible cables which are especially useful in connecting display elements such as wearable micro-displays to portable computers and wireless communication devices.

Abstract: A novel and improved method for performing paging is described. In one embodiment of the invention a searcher (206) is used to detect spread spectr um signals. Samples received RF signals are stored in a sample buffer. During standby mode, the samples are gathered during paging slots assigned to the mobile. A set of searches are performed on the samples, and if pilot signals are detected additional demodulation is performed to detect paging messages. The resulting set of demodulation data may be combined to increase detection . After a page message has been detected, additional demodulation resources ma y be activated to process more complete page messages, or other information channels. In one embodiment of the invention, the searcher (206) includes a demodulator to perform quick page detection without the use of finger elemen ts to reduce idle mode power consumption.

In one embodiment the invention comprises a method in a subscriber unit (10) for performing position location in a CDMA wireless communications system having a base station (12), the method comprising: receiving a position location request containing aiding information from the base station (12) over a first receive frequency; in response to the position location request, tuning a receiver (52, 54, 102, 104) of the subscriber unit (10) away from the first receive frequency to a position location frequency in order to receive position location information; and receiving information over the position location frequency and using the received information to perform a position location procedure, the method being characterized by: including data transition boundary information in the aiding information.
