Abstract:
Method of reduced temperature metallic vapor phase combustion for jet, turbine, diesel, fuel oil, and gasoline combustion systems. More particularly, it relates to methods and composition of metal-containing fuels comprised of enhanced combustion structure capable of increasing combustion burning velocity and reducing combustion temperature.
Abstract:
An additive for lubricant or fuel, comprising at least one member selected from substituted hydroxy aromatic ester derivatives represented by general formulae (I) and (II), (wherein R through R represent each an organic group having six or more carbon atoms; a, b, d, e, k and m represent each 1 to 3; c, f, g, i and j represent each 0 to 3; h represents 0 to 4, provided f+g=1 to 3 and h+i=1 to 6); a lubricant or fuel additive composition containing the same; and a lubricant or fuel composition containing the same. The additive is suitable as an ashless cleaning agent that is excellent in high-temperature stability and can substitute for metallic cleaning agents. The lubricant or fuel composition containing the same is suitable as an internal-combustion engine lubricant or fuel capable of coping with future severe exhaust gas regulation.

Abstract:
An automotive additive composition comprising an automotive additive ingredient and a matrix is described. The automotive additive ingredient may be a fuel additive ingredient such as a detergent. The matrix may comprise a gel composition, a solid water removal agent, or a combination comprising one or more of the foregoing matrices. The automotive additive composition may be in the form of a capsule, a gel capsule, or a tablet. Also disclosed is a method of delivering an additive ingredient to a functional fluid of a motor vehicle.
Abstract:
A liquid pour point depressant composition comprises a pour point depressant which is a solid at room temperature and which has a number average molecular weight of at least 500, and a liquid medium in which the material of pour point depressant is substantially insoluble at room temperature. The pour point depressant component is dispersed in the liquid medium.
Abstract:
There are herein disclosed an additive for a lubricant or a fuel which comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of substituted hydroxyaromatic ester derivatives represented by the general formulae (I) and (II) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 to R.sup.5 are each an organic group having 6 or more carbon atoms, a, b, d, e, k and m are from 1 to 3, c, f, g, i and j are from 0 to 3, and h is from 0 to 4, but (f+g) is from 1 to 3, and (h+i) is from 1 to 6, an additive composition for a lubricant or a fuel, and a lubricating oil composition or a fuel composition containing the above-mentioned additive. The above-mentioned additive for the lubricant or the fuel is desirable as an ashless detergent excellent in high-temperature stability in place of a metal detergent, and the lubricating oil composition or the fuel composition containing this additive can suitably be used as the lubricant or the fuel for an internal combustion engine which can comply with future exhaust gas controls.
Abstract:
A fuel composition for internal combustion engines, and more particularly, a fuel composition for internal combustion engines containing less than about 0.5 gram of lead per gallon of fuel is described. The fuel provides acceptable valve seat protection in engines designed to operate on leaded fuels. A further aspect of the invention is to reduce deposit formation within the cylinders.
Abstract:
Gasoline compositions and additive mixtures containing compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyl radicals, and substituted hydrocarbyl radicals, and R.sub.4 is selected from hydrogen, hydrocarbyl radicals, substituted hydrocarbyl radicals, hydrocarbyloxy radicals, and hydrocarbyloxycarbonyl radicals, in an amount sufficient to alleviate the plugging of certain catalysts being used in an engine exhaust system to lower the amount of undesirable constituents in exhaust gas from an engine being operated on gasoline containing a cyclopentadienyl manganese antiknock.
