    Abstract: The liquid metal cathode is employed as a cathodic electron source in arc discharges. A small liquid metal pool serves as the arcing material, and when it is kept small, improved electron-toatom emission ratios are obtained, as well as gravity independence. However, when such a small pool is employed, feed to the pool must be free of feed rate perturbations. Otherwise, an instability in the level of the mercury in the pool results. The present invention obtains feed rate stability by providing a feed passage with a diameter which is everywhere larger than that of the feed channel which finally discharges to the pool. Feed flow impedance is provided by an elongated capillary feed channel.

    Abstract: Provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure are an electron emission apparatus and an electronic apparatus. The electron emission apparatus comprises a fire-resistant container and a heating power source, wherein an electron emission material is provided in a cavity part; and an electron extraction electrode plate is provided beneath the fire-resistant container. The embodiments of the present disclosure have a relatively high field emission effect of electrons, and high consistency of electron-beam currents in different emission arrays; by using a liquid and a cavity to prepare a liquid needle tip, the selection range of an electron emission material can be expanded, and under the action of an electron extraction electric field, the structure of a liquid needle tip having a smaller radius is further drawn, thereby enhancing a field emission effect of the electrons, and greatly improving the efficiencies of an electron microscope and electron-beam exposure machine; and the service life of an electron emission structure is directly proportional to the mass of the accommodated electron emission material, such that the service life of electron generation can be significantly prolonged compared with the service life of traditional thermal-field emission and cold-field emission filaments, and the applications of an electron-beam exposure machine, a scanning electron microscope, a transmission electron microscope and other X-ray light sources can be satisfied.

    Abstract: Provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure are an electron emission apparatus and an electronic apparatus. The electron emission apparatus comprises a fire-resistant container and a heating power supply, the fire-resistant container being provided with a cavity part, the cavity part having a certain degree of vacuum, an electron emission material being arranged in the cavity part, at least one through hole being formed in the bottom of the fire-resistant container, and after being melted by heating, the electron emission material passing through the through hole so as to have an arc-shaped outwards-convex liquid surface and to emit electrons outwards. The embodiments of the present disclosure have a relatively good electron field emission effect and a high degree of product structure consistency, and achieve easy commissioning. The service life of the electron emission apparatus is in direct proportion to the mass of the accommodated electron emission material, so that the service life of the disclosed electronic apparatus can be remarkably prolonged compared with that of a traditional thermal field emission or cold field emission filament, thereby meeting the use requirements of an electron beam exposure machine, a scanning electron microscope, a transmission electron microscope and other X-ray sources.
