    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shield a leakage electric field in a specific frequency band by covering a part of a funnel made of glass. CONSTITUTION:To the glass funnel 2 of a color display tube 1, a funnel-shaped resin compact 4 a carbon type conductive layer 3 is coated to the inner surface is installed. The compact 4 is fixed to the funnel 2 with a conductive silicon type adhesive seal member 6. The conductive layer 3 is formed on the outer surface of the funnel 2, and a part is earthed through an extended outer duck 5 and the seal member 6 provided to be attached to the duck 5. As the compact 4, a flame resistant polycarbonate resin which can secure the insulation between the surface of a horizontal deflection coil 7 about 1000 Vp of pulse voltage is applied, and the layer 3 is used. By such a way, a a leakage electric field with the frequency band more than 2 kHz and less than 400 kHz from the cathode-ray tube can be shielded effectively.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a leakage electric field (VLEF) to about a half with almost no generation of ringing. CONSTITUTION:A pair of horizontally deflecting coils 2, 3, mounted on a funnel- shaped insulating frame unit 1 with a pair of vertically deflecting coils and a ferrite core, are arranged to be opposed to each other in upper and lower sides of a horizontal surface containing an axis 4 of the insulating frame unit 1. The upper and lower side horizontally deflecting coils 2, 3 are formed of the coil of saddle type respectively wound in the counter clockwise and the clockwise direction as viewed from a radial large opening end of the insulating frame unit 1. On the other hand, a horizontally deflecting circuit connected to both the horizontally deflecting coils 2, 3 supplies pulse wave voltage 5 of negative polarity from a chassis side.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the mis-landing of an electron beam in such an arrangement that a shadow mask formed of invar materials or the like has a smaller coefficient of thermal expansion than that of a glass bulb. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 2 provided within a face panel part 7 having a fluorescent film 4 on the inner surface of a front wall has a smaller coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the face panel part 7. In this arrangement, a spring 8 extending from the outer surface of a frame 6 is formed of a bimetal constituted by bonding a first metal plate 8a located on the fluorescent film 4 side with a second metal plate 8b located on a electron gun side having a larger coefficient of thermal expansion than that of the metal plate 8a. One end edge of the second metal plate 8b is fixed on the outer surface of the side wall of the frame 6, and a hole on the other end edge is fitted into a stud pin standing upright on the inner surface of the side wall of the face panel part 7, thereby making it feasible to supply a color picture tube showing an excellent color purity characteristic for both a cold district and a warm distict.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the preventive effect of wavy ringing and the reducing effect of frequency dependance of convergence by specifying the ratio of the self-inductance of a pair of saddle-form vertical deflecting coils connected in series each other, and the resistance values of resistances connected in parallel to both vertical deflecting coils respectively. CONSTITUTION:The ratio P (=L/R) of the self-inductances L (mH) of a pair of saddle-form vertical deflecting coils 1 and 2 connected in series each other to the resistance values R (kOMEGA) of resistances 12 and 13 connected in parallel to the vertical deflecting coils 1 and 2 respectively is made 3 to 40. When the P value exceeds 40, the Q dumping effect of the vertical deflecting coils 1 and 2 is increased, while the frequency dependent property of convergence is reduced. And when the P value is less than 3, the effect of the Q dumping is reduced, making liable to generate a wavy ringing, and the frequency dependent property of convergence is increased. Consequently, the generation of wavy ringing can be prevented sufficiently, and the frequency dependent property of convergence can be reduced sufficiently.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To correct the mis-convergence of an in-line type color picture tube easily and reliably with a simple structure by forming a magnetic field correcting element with an insulating piece having a magnetic body piece entering the horizontal deflecting coil inner side at one end and fixing a funnel section with an adhesive layer at the other end. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field correcting element 6 is formed with a flat insulating piece having a magnetic body piece 12 entering the inner side of a horizontal deflecting coil 8 at one end and an adhesive layer 13 at the other end. This insulating piece 10 is moved along a funnel section from the large- diameter section side and fixed to the funnel section via the layer 13 while a color picture is observed, thus the mis-convergence for each color of an in-line type picture tube is corrected easily and reliably with a simple structure.

Consequently the utilization of light can be improved by reflecting the light emitted from the phosphor subsistance at the grooved small recess section while since the grooved small recess section is discontinuous the strength of the face plate isn't lowered.
