SOLUTION: On the transmitting side of the system, time information is sampled at the timing of a frame synchronizing pulse and inputted to a DP1 and, on the receiving side of the system, the frame synchronizing pulse is generated by comparing the sampled time information with the time information on the receiving side.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily retrieve a recording content based on the data of a recording date, etc., by recording such data on an area between an audio signal and a video signal divided and recorded sequentially on helical tracks. CONSTITUTION:A system control circuit 4 outputs time information and the information DS of the recording date, etc., reacting according to the operation of an operator 5 to a market processing circuit 8. The circuit 8 forms a marker signal ma by modulating the information DS, and after that, outputs the signal ma to a magnetic head 10 at a time when a prescribed time elapses when the recording of a digital audio signal PCM is completed, and records it on a magnetic tape 2. Thence, the video signal VD is recorded after the lapse of the prescribed time. Thereby, it is possible to extract the signal ma from a reproducing signal and to retrieve a desired signal VD by performing fast feed in reproduction, and to display the signal by superimposing as necessary.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To adopt the best technology at all times without losing the compatibility with a conventional device even when a new compression means is adopted for the purpose of improving the compression technology or the like by providing a means compressing a digital data and a storage medium to the storage device. CONSTITUTION:A digital data from a coding circuit 14 is fed to a DSP 3 and a control signal and an address signal from a control circuit 15 are fed to the DSP 3. Thus, the digital data of the video signal picked up by the DSP 3 is compressed. Then the digital data stored in a RAM 2 is expanded into the original data by the DSP3 and extracted. In this case, since the digital signal processor(DSP) 3 is built in the RAM card 1, the RAM card 1 when viewed from a main body device 100 is equal to a conventional RAM card. Thus, the new RAM card 1 is used even for a conventional device.

In this regard, this reproducing operation is executed as continuous operation of the loading operation, therefore, it does not cause a user anxiety due to a short time. Accordingly, when the loading operation is ended, read of information related to the recording contents is ended. In such a way, program searching, etc., can be executed immediately after the loading operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable fast searching such as to search a desired chapter by providing plural kinds of marker signals in (n) tracks and periodically repeating to record same data in every (n) tracks. CONSTITUTION:Several kinds of marker signals are used, for example, five kinds of writing codes, the current chapter represented by P, next chapter by N, total data by T, option code by O, and time code by tc. All of these marker signals (writing codes) are provided in 30 frames and the data is repeatedly recorded with a period of 30 frames. By recording these writing codes in this arrangement on a tape, any writing codes required for fast search ing can be surely read-out from these 30 frames even when reproduction is performed at a speed faster by 7, 8, 19, or 20 times. Thus, any chapter in a recording medium which contains plural chapters can be searched at high speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a signal left unerased from being reproduced by judging a signal of a PCM area whether it is the recorded signal in relation with a video image or the signal left unerased irrelevant to the video image. CONSTITUTION:A PCM latter half area setting circuit 5 sets the latter half of a PCM area, detects an error number of a reproduced data at the area latter half and whether the PCM signal recorded in the PCM area is in relation to a video image or a signal left unerased irrelevant to the video image is judged from whether the error number is a prescribed value or over. When a new video image is recorded again on a tape with the PCM signal already recorded by using the 8-mm VCR whose PCM recording system is not set, the latter half in the PCM area is destroyed concentratingly. Thus, when the error of the reproduced data of the latter half of the PCM area is detected, even when the video area with re-recording is slightly overlapped with the PCM area, the PCM signal recorded in the PCM area is surely judged as to whether the signal is in relation with the video image or a signal left unerased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform the program searching by detecting the required video signal in a queue search mode by adding a marker signal onto a track not recorded with a video signal and reproducing this marker signal. CONSTITUTION:A part corresponding to a V-P guard 15, for instance, of a video track formed in a diagonal direction is detected by a counting circuit for counting clock signals based on, for instance, a vertical synchronizing signal, and this part corresponding to the V-P guard 15 is allowed to be recordable with a marker part in a prescribed format over several tracks. In other words, one part of the V-P guard part 15 in the track of 8mm recording format formed in the diagonal direction is where a head will run into, and this part can be used for the recording area. Then, when a rotary head passes this recording area at the time of recording, the prescribed marker signal M is inputted from the rotary head, so that a mark for discriminating a desired recording video track can be added, thus enabling the program searching of a video signal marked in the search mode.
