SOLUTION: The cartridge being packed with image forming particles is provided with an attaching/detaching key being specific to the kind of the cartridge, on an end part of the attaching/detaching direction to a developing device main body, and an acceptable part of the developing device main body is provided with the acceptable key for allowing the attachment of the cartridge only in the case that the attaching/detaching key of the cartridge is fit to the cartridge.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an approximate value to the actual toner concentration even when the developer amount or an environmental condition is changed by obtaining the toner concentration based on the measured value of the physical properties of a developer in a compressed state. SOLUTION: A rotatable stirring member 100 is arranged nearly in the center part of a developer container 51. A toner replenished from a toner replenishing roller 57 is stirred with a carrier. A toner concentration sensor 60 detecting the permeability of a developer is attached to the housing bottom face of a developing device 5 housing. A comparator 62 discriminates the magnitude relation between the maximum value of the absolute value of the voltage within the stirring and rotating cycle of the member 100 from the analog output of the sensor 60 and a reference voltage through a peak hold circuit 61 outputting the maximum value in every one cycle, and inputs the discriminated result to a CPU 63. The CPU 63 judges the toner concentration in the container 51 from the signal. In the case of judging that the toner concentration is low, a motor 58 is driven and the roller 57 is rotated to replenish the specified amount of the toner.

SOLUTION: At the time of transferring a toner image to the recording material 6 from a photoreceptor 2, on which the toner image is formed with a liqiud developer being made so that toner grains are dispersed in a liquid carrier, the process conditions are changed according to the surface 10-points average roughness Rz of the recording material 6. The recording material 6 whose smoothenss is high is in a state where the gap between the surfaces of the photoreceptor and the recording material is filled with the liqiud carrier (a), but in the recording material 6 whose smoothness is low, the gap remains without being filled with the liquid carrier, to prevent the electrophoresis of the toner grains (b). In such a case, squeeze gaps of each color or the rotational speed of a squeeze roller is varied according to the surface 10-piece average roughness Rz of the recording material 6. In a mat system coating sheet for instance, the squeezing gap is widened or the circumferential speed of the squeezing roller is reduced to make the amount of the liquid carrier on the photoreceptor large.

At this time, the concentrations of the developers of each color and the developing bias voltages applied to developing rollers in the developing units 21-24 are previously set at prescribed values respectively. Therefore, the color balance of each developed electrostatic latent image is suitably kept.     Abstract: PURPOSE: To restrain image flowing in a lateral direction by developing an electrostatic latent image in a state where a latent image carrying medium and an intermediate transfer medium are grounded and electrostatically charging the latent image carrying medium to have the same polarity as toner particles before an image is transferred on the intermediate transfer medium. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate transfer drum 31 is grounded and also press-contacted to a photoreceptor drum 11, so that toner images are successively laminated and transferred on the drum 31 every time the toner images of respective hues are developed by the developing units 21 to 24 of a developing means 20. After removing excess developer from the surface of the drum 11 where the toner image is developed by an auxiliary roller 71, the drum 11 is electrostatically charged to have the same polarity as the toner particles by a pretransfer charger 60. At such a time, the charger 60 electrostatically charges the drum 11 so that the absolute value of surface potential in an area where the developed toner image exists may be lower than the absolute value in the area where the image does not exist. Therefore, a confinment effect for the toner particles in the lateral direction is achieved in addition to a fixing effect and a transfer electric field reinforcing effect for the developed toner image, and the image flowing in the lateral direction is restrained.

The printer part is provided so that a positional relation relative to the floppy disk 2 which the information is recorded to or reproduced from by the disk drive device 1, is decided unequivocally, and is provided with a thermal head unit 4 and a stepping motor 5 and a belt 6 for moving the unit 4 to print the identification mark on the housing of the floppy disk 2. Further, the control part controls the printing work of the printer part.
