Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the subject compsn. which has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a high toughness and is suitable for engineering use by compounding a resin mixture comprising a specific liq. crystalline polyester resin and a specific thermoplastic resin with a specific bisoxazoline compd. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. resin mixture comprising 1-99wt.% liq. crystalline polyester resin consisting of structural units of formulas I, II, III, and IV (wherein R1 is a group of formula V, VI, or VII; and R2 is a group of formula V, VII, or VIII) or structural units of formulas I, II, and IV [the molar amt. of the sum of the units of formulas II and III is practically equal to that of the units of formula IV] and 99-1wt.% thermoplastic resin which does not form an anisotropic melt (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is compounded with 0.01-20 pts.wt. bisoxazoline compd. of formula IX (wherein Z is a group of formula VII or VIII, or alkylene; and R1 to R8 are each H or alkyl).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve especially thermal aging resistance and durability, by a method wherein a tubular molded body such as a tube or a hose superior in mechanical and sliding properties at the time of a high temperature is manufactured by molding copolymer polyester containing a structural unit expressed by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:This tubular molded body is made into a molded product of copolymer polyester comprised of a structural unit of polyester formed of p- hydroxybenzoic acid expressed by a formula I, a structural unit formed of 4, 4-dihydroxy biphenyl expressed by a formula II, a structural unit formed of ethylene glycol expressed by a formula III and a structural unit formed of terephthalic acid expressed by a formula IV. On this occasion, the structural units (I+II) and (I+II+III) are made respectively 80-93mol% of the (I+II+III) and 20-7mol% of the (I+II+III). Then a matter whose mol ratio of the structural unit I/III becomes 78/22-93/7 and logarithmic viscosity becomes 1.0-3.0dl/g is used as the copolymer polyester.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject melt moldable resin, having units derived from phenylhydroquinone, units derived from diphenyldicarboxylic acid and units derived from naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and excellent in mechanical and thermal characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin is composed of structural units expressed by formulas I to IV (X is formulas V, VI, etc.) at (10/0)-(2/8) molar ratio of the units expressed by formulas (I/II) and (8/2)-(3/7) molar ratio of the units expressed by formulas (III/IV) in equimolar amounts of the units expressed by formulas (I f II) and units expressed by formulas (III + IV). The aforementioned resin has 0.4-20dl/g inherent viscosity measured at 0.1g/dl concentration in pentafluorophenol at 60 deg.C and is preferably obtained by respectively using phenylhydroquinone, etc., as a raw material for the units expressed by formula I, methylhydroquinone, etc., as a raw material for the units expressed by formula II, 4,4'-diphenyldicarboxylic acid as a raw material for the units expressed by formula III and 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid as a raw material for the units expressed by formula IV and subjecting the above-mentioned raw materials to deacetylation and polycondensing reaction.

MBS polymer and/or acrylic acid ester graft polymer.

CONSTITUTION:10-90wt.% ABS resin (a) obtd. from diene rubber, a vinyl cyanide monomer, an arom. vinyl monomer and optionally, other copolymerizable monomer, is blended with 90-10wt.% arom. polycarbonate resin (b) to obtain a compsn. 1-20pts.wt. polymethacrylate resin (c) and/or polyglutarimide (c) which is a polymer having a cyclic imide unit of formula [wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each H, a 1-20C (substd.) alkyl or aryl] and 0.5-20 pts.wt. MBS resin (d) obtd. by grafting an alkyl unsaturated carboxylate and an arom. vinyl monomer onto diene rubber and/or acrylate graft copolymer (d) obtd. by grafting a vinyl compd. onto a copolymer obtd. from an alkyl acrylate and a polyfunctional polymerizable monomer having a conjugated diene type double bond, are added to 100pts.wt. said composition.
