Abstract:
Probes obtained by extracting DNAs carried by Klebsiella pneumoniae, completely digesting the extracted DNAs with a restriction enzyme HindIII, cloning the same into an appropriate vector and then screening probes containing the DNA fragments inherently carried by K. pneumoniae, followed by the clarification of the base sequences of these probes.
Abstract:
Proteins having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10; proteins having amino acid sequences derived from these amino acid sequences by deletion, substitution or addition of one to several amino acids; and base sequences encoding the same. Transgenic non-human animals with altered expression level of a serine protease BSSP2; an antibody against BSSP2; and a method for detecting BSSP2 in a specimen by using the antibody.
Abstract:
The invention provides a probe useful for rapidly detecting and identifying fungi causative of infectious diseases by digesting completely a DNA extracted from a fungus Candidat albicans with EcoRI, inserting the same into an appropriate cloning vector, and picking up a probe containing DNA fragments unique to each fungus. The invention also provides a standard sequence suitable for making reference to a genomic DNA contained in a clinical specimen by elucidating the base sequence of the probe thus picked up.
Abstract:
A probe derived from phlogogenic bacteria of pneumonia, containing fragments of DNA which streptococcus pneumoniae essentially possesses, and useful for detecting and identifying causative bacteria of pneumonia is obtained by completely digesting the DNA with a restriction endonuclease Pst I, followed by cloning into a suitable vector.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an osteopontin production inhibitor capable of preventing a disease resulting from increased production of osteopontin. The osteopontin production inhibitor contains a dictyopyrone derivative or a dihydrodictyopyrone derivative as an active ingredient. The dictyopyrone derivative is preferably a compound represented by Chemical Formula 1 or 2, and the dihydrodictyopyrone derivative is preferably a compound represented by Chemical Formula 3 or 4.
Abstract:
A respiratory tract widening tool capable of reliably managing a respiratory tract in a supine posture and freely changing the posture, and a respiratory tract widening unit provided therewith are provided. The respiratory tract widening tool (1) is a respiratory tract widening tool used attached to an outer periphery of the neck of the human body and is provided with a main body (2) that comes into contact with the posterior side of the neck when the tool is worn and receives an upward external force in a supine posture and a pair of jaw retainers (3a, 3b) that extend forward from the main body (2) spaced apart by a distance equivalent to the diameter of the neck and come into contact with both sides of the lower jaw when the tool is worn. The main body (2) and jaw retainers (3a, 3b) are formed of a restorable member, the main body (2) and jaw retainer (3a,3b) deform, when the posture is changed from the supine posture, in conformity with the posture, and when the supine posture is set, the external force received by the main body (2) is made to act on the jaw retainers (3a, 3b) to retain the lower jaw at a height at which the respiratory tract can be managed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a stable bicarbonate ion-containing drug solution, particularly a bicarbonate-containing drug solution for dialysis in which the stability has been improved by the presence of a phosphate ion. Further, the invention relates to a drug solution for acute blood purification, particularly a dialysate and a substitution liquid for acute blood purification to be mixed before use containing the drug solution. Still further, the invention relates to a dialysate and a substitution liquid for acute blood purification to be mixed before use in which the formation of insoluble fine particles or precipitates is prevented for a long time after mixing and with which hypokalemeia and hypophosphatemia are not caused.
Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide the cytolethal distending toxin (CDT) of C . hyointestinalis and polynucleotides encoding it, and novel methods for detection of C . hyointestinalis using the cdt genes. The present inventors focused on the cytolethal distending toxin (CDT) of Campylobacter bacteria, and detected the cdt genes of a Campylobacter -like bacterium isolated from an enteritis patient in Thailand. The present inventors discovered a bacterial strain whose cdtB gene was amplified by common primers in C. jejuni , C. coli, and C . fetus, but not by multiplex PCR that can specifically detect the cdtA , cdtB , and cdtC genes of the three bacterial species. The bacterial strain was identified as C . hyointestinalis by 16S rRNA gene analysis. Furthermore, the entire nucleotide sequence of the cdt genes was determined by genome walking upstream and downstream of the cdtB gene.
Abstract:
A dual-chamber container where usual motions of a user from taking out a dual-chamber container to install the container on an apparatus is used to cause placement chambers to be communicated and medical agents in the chambers to be mixed. The usual motions of a user include a motion to take out the packaged dual-chamber container and remove an exterior covering, a motion to extend the dual-chamber container that is usually two-folded, and a motion to install the extended dual-chamber container, that is, to hang the container on the apparatus.
