Abstract:
The invention provides a method of destroying tumor cells in the peritoneal cavity of a mammal. The method comprises administering to the mammal intraperitoneally a dose of replication-deficient adenoviral vector comprising (a) an exogenous nucleic acid sequence encoding a human TNF-a which is operably linked to a tumor cell-selective promoter, (b) a fiber protein wherein a native CAR-binding site is disrupted, and (c) and a penton base protein wherein a native integrin-binding site is disrupted.
Abstract:
Proteins having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 2, 4 and 6 and proteins derived from these proteins by deletion, substitution or addition of one or several amino acids in these amino acid sequences; base sequences encoding these proteins; a transgenic non-human animal having an altered BSSP6 expression level; an antibody against BSSP6; and a method for detecting BSSP6 in a specimen by using this antibody.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing a human collagen molecule having substantially the same structure as that of a naturally occurring collagen molecule, which process can synthesize, in a host cell having a collagen gene introduced therein, a large amount of a human collagen protein derived from the gene introduced in a vector capable of expressing a foreign gene at a high level, and which process enables to isolate and purify the human collagen molecule in a simple manner. Also disclosed is a collagen molecule produced by the process. A collagen gene construct is introduced into a vector capable of expressing a foreign gene at a high level, and a cell capable of expressing a collagen molecule at a low level is selected from a variety of mammalian cells as a host, whereby human collagen with little contamination by host cell-derived collagen can be produced in a large amount.
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a virus vector characterized in that a water-soluble polymer is directly or indirectly bonded to the surface of a viral particle and a foreign peptide having an affinity for integrin occurring on the surface of a target cell is further bonded to the water-soluble polymer.
Abstract:
A method of the early diagnosis of renal disorder, hemolytic-uremic syndrome and intestinal hemorrhagic Escherichia coli infection at the early stage; and a method of judging the severity of these diseases. The attack of renal disorder, hemolytic-uremic syndrome or intestinal hemorrhagic E. coli infection or the severity thereof is judged by detecting or quantitating AQP2 and/or molecules originating therein excreted into the urine of a subject. An immunochemical method with the use of an antibody specifically recognizing AQP2 is appropriately employed in the detection or quantification.
Abstract:
Isolated collectin (CL-L2s) genes containing a base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 36, 38 or 40 relating to novel collectins which are expected as exhibiting an antibacterial activity, an antiviral activity, etc. particularly in the human body; and isolated collectin proteins containing an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 37, 39 or 41 and derivatives and fragments thereof.
Abstract:
