PURPOSE: The peptides being capable of specifically binding with sLeX is provided, which can be effectively used for inhibiting the infection with bacteria and developing vaccine, or as therapeutic agents. CONSTITUTION: The peptides being capable of specifically binding with sLeX represented by a sequence selected from SEQ ID NO 1 to SEQ ID NO 5. Wherein, the sLeX is a tetrasaccharide and a critical substance in signal transfer between the cells or the recognition of pathogen; the peptide having the sequence of SEQ ID NO 1 contains multiple repeated amino acid sequence of SHWDQPRPGLKP; and the peptide having the sequence of SEQ ID NO 2 contains multiple repeated amino acid sequence of AHWPRYSSPATA.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: Provided is an RNA sequence, which binds to siallyl Lewis (sLe X), of a cancer cell with high specificity and affinity. Also, a method for detecting sLe X using the RNA sequence is provided. The RNA is excellent in binding strength or molecular specificity, therefore, it is useful in detecting the cancer cell and in developing a therapeutic agent thereof. CONSTITUTION: The RNA is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO : 1 - SEQ ID NO : 19 and has the binding specificity and the affinity to sLe X which is a cell surface marker related to an inflammation and a metastasis. The RNA sequence is selected by the steps of preparing the RNA library, fixing the sLe X with CNBr-activating Sepharose 4B and carrying out a systematic evolution of ligand by exponential enrichment (SELEX) method. The detection method of the sLe X comprises the steps of : reacting the sLe X with the RNA sequence selected from SEQ ID NO : 1 - SEQ ID NO : 19; and assaying the RNA bound specifically the sLe X to detect the sLe X.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: Provided is an RNA sequence which has a binding specificity to cholesterol or derivatives thereof and which has an activity of a cholesterol esterase. Also, provided is a detection method of a lipophilic substance, especially LDL resulting in arteriosclerosis and a hypertension using the RNA sequence. The sequence is useful in an inhibitor blocking a bioreaction caused by endocrine disruptors and is used as an artificial catalyst without any side effect. CONSTITUTION: The RNA sequence is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO : 1 - SEQ ID NO : 11 and has the activity of a cholesterol esterase. The RNA sequence is prepared by a 131 bp DNA sequence comprising 70 nucleotides of random sequence as shown in Fig. 1, wherein T7 RNA polymerase of 5'-primer promotes an in vitro transcription and the site of a restriction enzyme is useful in identifying that the inserts have been incorporated into the sequence. The detection method of the lipophilic substance comprises the steps of : reacting the lipophilic substance with the RNA sequence selected from SEQ ID NO : 1 - SEQ ID NO : 11; and assaying the RNA bonded specifically with the lipophilic substance to detect the lipophilic substance.
