    Abstract: Water-soluble or -dispersible graft polymers (I) and their salts are claimed. The polymers are from a water-soluble or -dispersible polyurethane prepolymer (A) with terminal NCO groups, and a protein (B) with free amino groups. Also claimed are (1) a process for preparing (I) by reacting (A) with (B); and (2) a hair-treatment agent containing (I), especially in the form of a hair spray. Pref. (I) is produced from (a) a compound with at least 2 active H atoms, (b) a compound with at least 2 active H atoms and at least 1 acid, tertiary amine or ionogenic or ionic group, and (c) a diisocyanate. The equivalent ratio (NCO):(active H) = >1:1 to 1.2:1. (b) is preferably a carboxylate and/or sulphonate group or a group containing nitrogen, especially dimethylolpropanoic acid. (a) contains a polyester diol and/or a silicone. (B) is casein or its hydrolysate.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the use of reactive dyes for dyeing hair. Said reactive dyes are of formula (I), wherein a represents 1 or 2, b represents 0 or 1, Y represents vinyl or a radical of formula C2H4Q, Q being a group which can be split off in alkaline reaction conditions, L represents a direct bond or a binding link of formula CO-NH-M which can be interrupted by 1 or 2 non-adjacent oxygen atoms, imino or C1-C4 alkylimino groups, M being C2-C6 alkylene, A represents hydroxysulfonyl or a radical of formula SO2Y, A represents hydrogen, hydroxysulfonyl, methoxy, chlorine, bromine or carboxyl, W represents 1) the radical of a coupling constituent, of a monoazo dye or additionally, when b=0, of a disazo dye, which can carry other reactive groups, or 2) the radical of a chromophore which optionally has other reactive groups, and L and L each represent a binding link.     Abstract: A cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation containing a water soluble or water dispersible copolymer (A) obtainable by radical copolymerization of: (1) (meth)acrylic acid amide; (2) alpha-beta-ethylenically unsaturated amide group containing compounds starch, starch derivatives and their mixtures; and (3) at least one cosmetically acceptable carrier is new. A cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation containing: (1) at least one water soluble of water dispersible copolymer (A) obtainable by radical copolymerization of (wt.%): (a) (meth)acrylic acid amide (5-90); (b) at least one alpha-beta-ethylenically unsaturated amide group containing compounds of formula R1-C(O)-NR2R3 (I) (0-85): (c) at least one component different from (a) and (b) with a copolymerisable unsaturated water soluble compound (0-40), where the sum of (b) and (c) is at least 5 wt.%, optionally in the presence of up to 25 wt.% on the total weight of components (a) and (b) of at least one water soluble component (d) selected from: (i) polyether containing compounds; (ii) polymers having at least one 50 wt.% repeating units derived from vinyl alcohol; and (iii) starch and starch derivatives and their mixtures; and (2) at least one cosmetically acceptable carrier. R1, R2 = CH2=CR4; R4 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R1, R2, R3 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl; provided that: (1) either R1 is CH2=CR4 and R2 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl or joined with R3 or R2 is C=R4 and R1 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl or joined with R3; and (2) both of R2 and R3 are not H. An Independent claim is also included for a copolymer A obtainable by radical polymerization of (wt.%)::(a) methacrylic acid amide (10-45) and (b) vinylpyrrolidone and/or vinylcaprolacatam (60-90), (c) at least one different from (a) and (b) copolymerisable unsaturated water soluble compound (0-25), optionally in the presence of up to 25 wt.% on the total weight of (a)-(d) of polymers (d2) and/or starch or starch derivatives.
