Abstract: The bleaching activator used in a mixture for production of a papermaking pulp is an N-alkylammonium-acetonitrile salt. The bleaching activator used in a mixture for production of a papermaking pulp is an N-alkylammonium-acetonitrile salt of formula (I), the other components of the mixture being: (A) a pulp containing cellulose of vegetable origin, water and various materials depending on the method of pulp production; and (B) a bleach which is hydrogen peroxide, an alkali metal perborate or its hydrate, an alkali metal percarbonate, a persulfate or a typical oxygen bleach such as an organic peracid. R = 1-24C alkyl (optionally interrupted by non-adjacent O atoms and/or optionally OH-substituted), 4-24C cycloalkyl, 7-24C alkaryl or -CR R -CN; R and R = as for R or together form a 4- to 9-membered ring containing at least one C atom and also at least one O, S or N atom; R and R = H, 1-24C alkyl (optionally interrupted by non-adjacent O atoms and/or optionally OH-substituted), 4-24C cycloalkyl or 7-24C alkaryl; and Y = a sulfate, halide, methosulfate, tosylate or hydrogen sulfate anion. An Independent claim is also included for a de-inking formulation comprising the bleaching activator (I) together with: (i) an anionic and/or nonionic surfactant; (ii) an alkali source such as sodium hydroxide or silicate or silicon dioxide, optionally together with a complex-former and/or other additives; and (iii) a bleach as in (B) above.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dispersant obtainable by reacting(i) a di- or polyfunctional isocyanate with(ii) an HX-terminated polymeric compound, where X is COO, O, S or NR and R is H or C1-C6-alkyl; and either(iii) an HY-terminated homopolymer of a monomer selected from the group consisting of N-vinylamides, N-vinyllactams and vinyl- or allyl-substituted nitrogenous heterocycles or copolymer of one or more of the monomers mentioned and optionally further monomers, where Y is COO, O, S or NR and R is H or C1-C6-alkyl; or(iv) an HY-functional organic phosphonic ester, where Y is as defined above.The dispersant is especially useful for dispersing pigments and for preparing inkjet inks.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing shaped bodies, preferably for a film-like shaped body, comprising the following steps: I) compounding and melt extrusion of a mixture (I) comprising a mixture (II) containing a) 1 to 95 wt. % of at least a pigment (III) with a primary particle size ranging from 5 nm to 20mm, selected from the group consisting of one electrochemically inert solid (IIIa), of a compound (IIIb) capable of giving off lithium ions when charged, and a compound (IIIc), capable of receiving lithium ions when charged, and a mixture of solid (IIIa) with compounds (IIIb) or compound (IIIc), b) 5 to 99 wt. % of at least one polymer binding agent (IV), and c) 0 to 200 wt. % of at least one softening agent (V) in relation to the overall amount of constituents a) and b), wherein the weight percentage of mixture (II) in mixture (I) ranges from 1 to 100 wt. %, and excluding mixtures (I) comprising mixtures (II) containing a copolymer consisting of vinylidene fluoride (Vdf) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP) with a HFP content ranging from 8 to 25 wt. % as a polymer binding agent (IV) and a compound as a softening agent (V) which is selected from the group consisting of dibutyl phthalate, dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, tris(butoxy)ethyl phosphate, propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, trimethyl trimellitate and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of wood-base materials which have at least one thin veneer layer adhesively bonded over the surface to a substrate or to further veneer layers, which process comprises the following steps: i. impregnation of a veneer with an aqueous curable composition which comprises a) at least one curable urea compound selected from urea compounds H which have at least one N-bonded group of the formula CH2OR, where R is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, and/or a 1,2-bishydroxyethane-1,2-diyl group bridging the two nitrogen atoms of the urea, precondensates of the urea compound H, and reaction products or mixtures of the urea compound H with at least one alcohol which is selected from C1-C6-alkanols, C2-C6-polyols and oligoethylene glycols, and b) at least one catalyst K effecting crosslinking of the urea compound; ii) gluing of the impregnated veneer and/or the substrate with a glue composition and iii) processing of the glued veneer to give a wood-base material at elevated temperature with curing of the crosslinkable urea compound, the impregnated veneer comprising the crosslinkable urea compound in substantially uncrosslinked form before the gluing in step ii).

In step b) the impregnated lignocellulosic material is treated with overheated steam. The invention also relates to lignocellulosic materials which are obtained according to said method.

Abstract: The invention relates to sulfonic acid group-containing copolymers, which al so contain the following constituents that are incorporated by polymerization i n a statistical or block-by-block manner: (a) 30 to 95 mol % of a least one monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, one monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, or one water-soluble salt of a monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid; (b) 3 to 35 mol % of at least one sulfonic acid group-containing monomer of formula (I), in which the variables have the following meanings: R represents hydrogen or methyl; X represents a chemical bond or -C00-R1-; R1 represents unbranched or branched C1-C4 alkylene; M represents hydrogen, alkali metal or ammonium, and; (c) 2 to 35 mol % of at least one non-ionic monomer of formula (II), in which the variables have the following meanings: R2 represents hydrogen or methyl; R3 represents a chemical bond or unbranched or branched C1-C6 alkylene; R4 represents identical or different unbranched or branched C2-C4 alkylene groups; R5 represents unbranched or branched C1-C6 alkyl, C5-C8 cycloalkyl o r aryl, and; n represents 3 to 50. These copolymers are used as an additive in detergents and cleansers.
