    Abstract: PURPOSE:To smooth constriction of a stripe and to upgrade screen quality by performing the reciprocating motion of a panel in the longitudinal direction of the linear stripe while continuously performing light irradiation of an arbitrary inner surface of the panel. CONSTITUTION:A panel mounting plate 32 is formed on an upper end surface 31 of a frame 30, and a panel 5 equipped with a shadow mask 8 having many slot-shaped via apertures is positioned on the plate 32. Inside the frame 30, a long light source 3, a lens 6 for landing correction, a filter 7 for correcting a light distribution, and a shutter 20 are disposed from the downside toward the panel 5. In this composition, the long light source 3 is formed into an oblong linear shape and the longitudinal direction of this source is made identical with that of the slot-shaped via holes of the mask 8, that is, that of the linear stripe to be formed. The shutter 20 is equipped with an opening part, and while the inner surface of the panel 5 is irradiated through a rectangular region 21 of the shutter 20, reciprocating motion of the panel is performed in the longitudinal direction of the long light source 3. Furthermore, the mounting plate 32 is also moved in the longitudinal direction of the long light source 3 by the use of a driving part 34, so that the stripe without constriction can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To check the deterioration of color purity due to partial thermal deformation so effectively, by setting the center of a shadow mask down to a point of origin, and constituting it so as to satisfy the specified condition with a specific plane and an effective zone. CONSTITUTION:Setting the center of a shadow mask down to a point of origin, when a major axis is set to an X-axis, a minor axis to a Y-axis and a center axis to a Z-axis, respectively, a zone in and around an intersection line between a plane (X-Z plane) inclusive of the X-axis and the Z-axis in an effective zone and the effective zone forms a radius of curvature of the intersection line to be formed with an optional plane (Y-Z parallel plane) in parallel with the Y-axis and the Z-axis into such a form taking the minimum between the mask center and the X-axial effective zone. In addition, a curve of the intersection line to be formed with the X-Z plane and the mask effective zone should be formed into, for example, an oval or a noncircular curve which partially intensifies the degree of curvature. With this constitution, a variation in color purity caused by partial thermal deformation by an emissive collision of electron beams of the shadow mask can be checked.

CONSTITUTION:Inside the rectangular panel 9 of a color picture tube is formed a phosphor 17, the rectangular shadow mask 14 is arranged close and opposite to the panel 9, and in the electron beam projecting area 18 of the mask 14 is formed an opening 15. where the long center axis and the short center axis of the mask 14 are taken as X axis and Y axis respectively, the section along the X axis around the M point in the beam projecting area 18 of the mask 14 is formed in a portion of an elliptical curve, taking a line along the X axis as the major axis and Y axis as the apex. By making the eccentricity of the elliptical curve more than 0.5 and less than 1.0, and making the section along the Y axis in one or more different curvature radiuses, the deterioration in color purity depending on the partial thermal deformation is controlled.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube without having such problems as color purity deterioration due to beam landing deviations caused by a deformation of a mask structure of a shadow mask and implosion proof characteristics deterioration of a face panel, when curvatures of the mask structure and an inner surface of the face panel are reduced to follow flattening an outer surface of the face panel of the color picture tube to the utmost limit in order to improve its picture recognition. SOLUTION: The center of the inner surface of a face panel 13 is chosen as a first reference point. The respective sinking amounts at the ends of the diagonal axis, horizontal axis and the vertical axis with respect to the first reference point are called ZPD, ZPH and ZPV, respectively. Similarly, the corresponding sinking amounts of the same axes with respect to the center of a shadow mask 18 are called ZMD, ZMH and ZMV, respectively. Then, the face panel 13 and the mask body 21 are formed so as to satisfy the relations ZPD> ZPV>ZPH, ZMD>ZMH>ZMV and ZPD ZMV.
