Abstract: Procedimiento para la producción de ácido D-pantoténico y/o sus sales, caracterizado porque e) se utiliza al menos un microorganismo que produce ácido D-pantoténico, cuya biosíntesis de ácido pantoténico (pan) y/o de isoleucina/valina (ilv) está desregulada y que forma al menos 2 g/l de sales del ácido pantoténico mediante la fermentación en un medio de cultivo, añadiéndose al medio de cultivo 0 - 20 g/l de Beta-alanina libre y/o sal de Beta-alanina, f) se conduce la solución de fermentación que contiene D-pantotenato mediante la aplicación de un campo eléctrico a través de una o varias membranas selectivas de iones, eliminándose los iones de bajo peso molecular de la solución que contiene D-pantotenato, g) se ajusta el ácido D-pantoténico libre contenido en la solución mediante la adición de una base de calcio y/o de magnesio hasta un valor de pH de 3-10, obteniéndose una solución, que contiene pantotenato de calcio y/o de magnesio y h) se somete la solución que contiene pantotenato de calcio y/o de magnesio a un secado y/o formulación.
