Abstract: A graft copolymer A is constituted by (A1) 1 to 90 % by weight, with respect to A, of a particulate graft copolymer A1 having a glass transition temperature below 0 DEG C and an average particle size below 40 nm; and (A2) 10 to 99 % by weight, with respect to A, of a graft coating A2 made of olefinically unsaturated monomers that form soft or hard polymers. The average particle size of the graft copolymer A as a whole is lower than 50 nm. Also disclosed is a moulding material containing this graft copolymer.

Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding compsn. contains 35-92 (wt.% thermoplastic polymer (I), 5-35% polymer (II) contg. imide gps. and 3035% fibrous reinforcement (III). The compsn. pref. contains 40-80% (I), 10-35% (II) and 10-30% (III). USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsn. is used for making fibres, films and mouldings, (claimed). It has good mechanical properties, very good surface quality and high scratch resistance. Compsns. are useful e.g. in the automobile and building fields and for making housings for electrical equipment.

Abstract: Thermoplastic moulding materials (I) are claimed, contg. (A) 50-99.5 wt.% polyoxymethylene homo- or copolymer, (B) 0.1-9 wt.% polymer with in-chain imide gps. of formula (II), (C) 0-50 wt.% impact-modifying polymer and (D) 0-50 wt.% fibrous and/or particulate filler, R1, R2 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 6-18C aryl, R3 = H, 1-8C alkyl, 5-12C cycloalkyl or 6-18C aryl. More specifically, R1, R2 = H or Me and R3 = H, 1-4C alkyl-cyclohexyl or benzyl contain 60-98 wt.% (A) and 5-8 wt.% (B) and component (B) contains 0.1-100% imide gps. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for producing fibres, film and moulded prods. (claimed). Also claimed are moulded prods. based on (I). Provides polyoxymethylene moulding materials with improved thermal stability and UV stability, which give moulded prods. with good colour and surface quality. (I) are esp. useful for external parts of cars, e.g. tank caps.
