    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a treatment soln. for a separation membrane harmless to a human body, not generating a problem of drainage and capable of preserv ing a separation membrane module over a long period of time by using a polylysine soln. as the treatment soln. CONSTITUTION:Polylysine is a polymer of lysine and obtained, for example, by separating polylysine after the culture of polylysine producing bacteria. Further, polylysine may contain other natural substance or synthetic chemical substance not damaging the separation effect of a membrane. An antibacterial agent such as polyalginin may be together used. This polylysine can suppress the propagation of a wide range of bacteria such as heat-resistant bacteria, lactic bacteria or yeast and can limit the growth of them to extremely low concn. Since it is difficult to strictly specify the concn. of polylysine of this preservation soln., the concn. of polylysine must be determined in consideration of an initial viable cell number or a preservation state and is 1-5000ppm, pref., 5-1000ppm, more pref., 10-500ppm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the propagation of bacteria and fungi on the surface of a separating membrane and in a separating membrane module by using a soln. of hinokitiol as a preserving soln. for the membrane and the module. CONSTITUTION:A separating membrane and a separating membrane module are treated with a soln. of hinokitiol (4-isopropyl-2-hydroxy-2,4,6- cycloheptatrien-1-on) as a component extracted from plants of the Japanese cypress family such as hiba arborvitae and Formosan cypress. The soln. is harmless to the human body and does not cause the problem of waste water, the propagation of bacteria and fungi in the module is prevented over a long period of time and the membrane can be preserved without causing deterioration.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve permselectivity of organic substances and given high durability and film-formability by forming a separation membrane using a hydrophobic polymer containing a low molecular weight organic substance and a host molecule which forms a host-guest complex with the low molecular weight organic substance. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a solid or a support is coated with a blend solution of a low molecular weight organic substance, a host molecule which forms a host-guest complex with the low molecular weight organic substance, and a hydrophobic polymer in a prescribed thickness. Then, after the solvent is vaporized, the solvent is replaced with a coagulating solvent to form a separation membrane. As the host molecule, a molecule having a formula I (R1 stands for phenyl, dimethylphenyl, methylchlorophenyl, isopropyl; R2 stands for hydrogen, methyl) is preferable. As the hydrophobic polymer, cross-linked polysiloxianes, substituted acetylene polymers, vinyl polymers, etc., are preferable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the permselectivity to an org. liq. from its aq. soln. by heat-treating a porous membrane contg. a polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer at >=35 deg.C to form the aq. volatile org. liq. soln.-concentrating membrane. CONSTITUTION:A soln. consisting of a polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer, its solvent and an org. solvent having higher volatility than the solvent is cast over the surface of a solid, etc., in fixed thickness. The solvents are vaporized for a fixed time, and then the solvent is substituted for a solidifying solvent to obtain a sheet-shaped porous membrane. The porous membrane of the polyvinylidene fluoride-based polymer is heat-treated at a temp. higher than 35 deg.C or appropriately higher than 50 deg.C and lower than the m.p. of the polymer to obtain an aq. volatile org. liq. soln-concentrating membrane. The polyvinylidene fluoride content of the membrane is appropriately controlled to at least 50wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an alcoholic drink having an alcoholic concentration higher than the starting stock solution by feeding an alcoholic drink on the primary side of a hydrophobic membrane, keeping pressure of secondary side to be lower than that of primary side and permeate the alcohol vapor through the above-mentionen membrane into the secondary side. CONSTITUTION:An alcoholic drink as a starting stock solution is controlled to prescribed temperature by a heat exchanger 3 and fed to the primary side of a module 4 equipped with a hydrophobic separation membrane capable of preferentially permeating a voltatile organic liquid. Then the secondary side of the module is kept at pressure lower than that of the primary side by a vacuum pump 19 and a pressure-reducing degree controlling device 8 and the concent vapor of an alcohlic ingredient is permeated to the secondary side of the above-mentioned module 4. Thereafter, the vapor is condensed by condensers 6 and taken out to provide the objective drink. Furthermore, an inert gas is preferably allowed to flow to the above-mentioned secondary side.

CONSTITUTION:Solution of a polymer having fluoroalkyl and whose structure unit is represented by the formula I (representing R1 to R3 =H, alkyl having 1 to 20 carbons, fluoroalkyl, R4= fluoroalkyl having 1 to 20 carbons, X = ester bonding, amide bonding and the like) is added to an acrylonitrile group polymer such as polyacrylonitrile. Then, said mixed solution is manufactured in the form of a porous film of acrylonitrile group polymer. Said film concentrates and separates the organic liquid from the volatile organic liquid aqueous solution with good selectivity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce or omit the burden of a cold trap and to efficiently separate the aimed substance under high vacuum, by providing the cold trap between a membrane module and a vacuum pump and holding the degree of vacuum of the secondary side of the membrane module at a specified value or below. CONSTITUTION:An organic liquid mixture to be treated which is stored in a feed liquid tank 1 is fed to a membrane module 4 for pervaporization via a heating equipment 3 with a circulation pump 2, and returned to the original feed liquid tank through a circuit 8 to circulate it. The secondary side of the membrane module 4 is held at 30mmHg or below, and permeated vapor is pressurized at compression ratio not less than 10 times with a mechanical booster pump 5 and led to cold traps 6, condensed and collected and thereafter the degree of vacuum is held with a vacuum pump 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering in capacity of a semipermeable membrane, by supplying raw water after ion exchange treatment, the addition of a chlorine type sterilizing agent and pH adjustment to the semipermeable membrane composed of a cellulosic derivative. CONSTITUTION:After raw water is subjected to ion exchange treatment, a sterilizing agent such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide or sodium bisulfite is added to raw water in a range of 0.01-1ppm. Subsequently, raw water is adjusted to pH 4.0-6.5 and supplied to a semipermeable member formed using cellulose, cellulose acetate, cellulose butyrate or methyl cellulose as a polymer component to be treated. By this method, the lowering in the performance of the semipermeable membrane is suppressed to reduce trouble and the long-term stable operation of a process is made possible.
