    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the difference in quality between the interior and exterior of an extruded fiber, and to improve the spinnability, by making the feed rate of a sea component polymer from near the inner periphery and the center of a spinneret for an island-in-sea type composite fiber controllable. CONSTITUTION:A molten polymer fed from the inner periphery of the distribution plate 16 is distributed to the part near the inner periphery and the center of the spinneret 1 by the plate 16 on the spinneret assembly comprising a plurality of the circular spinneret plates 1-4 and the spacer 5. The polymer is then fed from the conduits 6 and 19 of the first and the second spinnerets 1 and 2 and then near the inner periphery and the center of the spinneret 2 to the sea component path 9 between the spinnerets 2 and 3 in the spacer 5. A flow control piece 20 is set for controlling the ratio of flows in the inner and the outer conduits 19 and 6, preferably as a member to regulate the path in a part of the conduit 19.

CONSTITUTION:The island component A is introduced from the supply ports 7 of the first spinneret plate 1, the pipes 8 passing through the second spinneret plate 2 and the sea component path 9 into the paths 11 of the third spinneret plate 3. The sea component polymer B is fed from the distribution plate 16 just above the spinneret 1 and from near the inner periphery and the center of the spinneret 2 and the outside of the pipes 8 into the paths 11 to form island-in-sea type composite streams, which are collected by the collecting part 12 into a composite fiber. Inner supply ports are provided on the first and second spinnerets 1 and 2.
