Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide both a sufficient strength and a sealing force to corner parts by providing a recessed groove for fitting a tightening band piece not continued to gasket corner parts and a recessed groove for fitting a tightening band piece. CONSTITUTION: A gasket base body part 30 is provided with a pair of wing pieces 38 and 40 and a pair of wing pieces 42 and 44 on gasket band pieces 22 and 24 and portions 21 and 23 of a corner member 20, respectively, and a groove hole for pivotally supporting a window pane is formed in these wing pieces 38, 40, 42, and 44. The base body part 30 is provided with sealing parts 48 and 50 for sealing the gasket, and a first portion 21, a second portion 23, and gasket band pieces 22 and 24 are provided with recessed grooves 52 and 54 in one surface of it. These recessed grooves 52 and 54 are used to fit a tightening band piece 60 for fixedly tightening a window pane 16 in the groove hole.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of making a trim strip comprising the extrusion of a vinyl material to form a body which is so shaped that it can be confined in a peripheral slot in a roll, thereby to permit substantial pressure to be applied on the extruded body and a decorative strip by a mating roll. The top portion of the extruded body has side extensions which are supported by the edges of the recessed roll; thus, substantial pressure can be applied on the entire top of the decorative surface strip and the body to produce an adhesive bond or a bond by heat sealing. After the body is cooled, it is advanced through a number of aligned milling cutters to machine aligned recesses in the sides of the body to produce a retention cutout. After being machined to depth, the trim strip is advanced through a pair of grinding wheels to accurately form and space the recesses. During the extruding operation, a coated wire may be embedded within the body in the conventional manner.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket device and a weatherstrip substantially concealed in an invisible state when a window is in the closed position while positioning the peripheral edge part of the movable window flush with an automobile body. SOLUTION: A member with a U-shaped groove 48 vertically opened to the inner surface of the window 14 in a position close to the side edge of the window 14, is mounted to a flange 46 of a vehicle through a U-shaped groove 42 parallel with the inner surface of the window. A window member 50 mounted to the inner surface of the window and vertical to the inner surface is slidably and hermetically supported to the U-shaped groove. Preferably, the window member is removable from the U-shaped groove.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the seal property against the surface of a corresponding metal frame by constituting with a thin magnetic rubber layer formed by an extrusion molding on the seal member of an elastomer base having an outer surface and one part of the outer surface. SOLUTION: A tubular seal member 18 is formed by the extrusion molding of the sponge rubber such as a sponge EPDM rubber. By providing a thin magnetic coating 36 on the outer surface of the seal member 18, the seal function is improved further largely. As the magnetic coating 36 is provided on a limited area of the seal member 18 and thin, the magnetic coating 36 has a magnetic force which can seal the metal surface of a corresponding automobile and also the magnetic force scarcely disturbs the door opening. Thus, the carrier 16 and tubular seal member 18 can work satisfactorily under the various environment as the seal of the automobile.
