    Abstract: PURPOSE: Granules using ginseng and Chrysanthemum indicum and a preparation method thereof are provided to improve water solubility. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing granules using ginseng and Chrysanthemum indicum comprises the following steps of: pulverizing ginseng in 10μm size at -196 ~ 30°C, adding a binder, and molding into core; pulverizing Chrysanthemum indicum in 10μm size at -196 ~ 30°C, and coating the core with the pulverized Chrysanthemum indicum; adding the binder to the pulverized Chrysanthemum indicum and molding into core; coating the Chrysanthemum indicum core with ginseng powder; and putting the ginseng powder, Chrysanthemum indicum powder, and binder into a co-rotating type twin screw extruder equipped with kneading blocks, and extruding granules in conditions of screw rotation of 150~250 rpm, barrel pressure of 50~150 bar, clearance between the screw and barrel of 0.1~0.3 mm, and barrel heating temperature of 100~200°C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A grape juice with increased antioxidant activity and a preparation method thereof are provided to remove the oxidized flavor from the grape juice during preservation, thereby securing fresh taste and flavor. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a grape juice comprises the following steps of: irradiating far infrared rays to grapes; and drying the irradiated grapes to obtain the grape juice with increased antioxidant activity. The far infrared rays emit a wavelength within a range of 2 ~ 14 μm. The far infrared rays are irradiated to the grapes at 40 ~ 120°C for 5-60 minutes. The increase in antioxidant activity represents the increase in polyphenol content or in DPPH free radical removal activity.

    Abstract: An extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L., Malvaceae is provided to control the function of macrophage by inhibiting generation of TNF-alpha, mRNA expression of interleukin(IL)-3 and IL-12, and generation of nitric oxide(NO), prostaglandin(PGE2) and reactive oxygen species(PROS), thereby being useful for preventing and treating diseases by immuno-reaction. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammation comprises an extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L. Malvaceae as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is prepared by extracting the Hibiscus cannabinus L. with at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 alcohol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butyleneglycol, ethylacetate, benzene, hexane, diethyl ether and dichloromethane, filtering the extract and concentrating the filtrate.
