Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de ácido N- fosfonometiliminodiacético mediante reacción de una sal metálica alcalina de ácido iminodiacético con tricloruro de fósforo en disolución acuosa, bajo formación de cloruro de ácido iminodiácetico, ácido fosforoso y del correspondiente cloruro metálico alcalino, subsiguiente reacción con una fuente de formaldehído, y en caso deseado obtención de ácido N-fosfonometildiaminodiacético a partir de la mezcla de reacción, caracterizado porque, durante la reacción de la sal metálica alcalina de ácido iminodiacético con tricloruro de fósforo, se elimina agua, que contiene, en caso dado, HCl, de la mezcla de reacción, hasta que se presenta una concentración en hidrocloruro de ácido iminodiacético en el intervalo de un 44 a un 55 % en peso, referido al peso de la mezcla de reacción menos el peso de cloruro metálico alcalino.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid by reacting an alkali metal salt of iminodiacetic acid with phosphorus trichloride in aqueous solution with formation of the hydrochloride of iminodiacetic acid, phosphorous acid and of the corresponding alkali metal chloride, followed by reaction with a formaldehyde source and, if desired, recovery of the N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid from the reaction mixture, in which water, which may comprise HCl, is removed from the reaction mixture during and/or after reacting the alkali metal salt of iminodiacetic acid with phosphorus trichloride until the concentration of iminodiacetic acid hydrochloride is at least 40% by weight, based on the weight of the reaction mixture minus the weight of alkali metal chloride. The process makes possible the preparation of N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid in a simple fashion and in high yield.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing aminodihalophosphines, diaminohalophosphines, triaminophosphines, phosphite diamides, aminophosphines, diaminophosphines, phosphite amide halogenides, and aminophosphine halogenides by separating an acid in the presence of an auxiliary base. Said auxiliary base b) forms a salt with an acid, which is liquid at temperatures at which the valuable product is not significantly decomposed during separation of the liquid salt, and c) the salt of the auxiliary base and the valuable product or the solution of the valuable product form two immiscible phases in a suitable solvent.
