Abstract: Biodegradable polyesters P1 obtainable by the reaction of a mixture consisti ng essentially of (al) a mixture essentially of 35 to 95 mol% adipic acid or ester-forming derivatives thereof or mixtures thereof, 5 to 65 mol% terephthalic acid or ester-forming derivatives thereof or mixtures thereof, and 0 to 5 mol% of a sulphonate group-containing compou nd in which the sum of the individual mol percentages is 100, and (a2) a dihydroxy compound selected from the group consisting of C2- C6 alkane diols and C5-C10 cycloalkane diols, in which the molar ratio of (a1) and (a2) is in the range from 0.4:1 to 1.5:1, provided that the polyester P1 have a molecular weight (M n) in the range from 5000 to 50,000 g/mol, a viscosity index in the range from 30 to 350 g/m l (measured in o-dichlorobenzole/phenol (in a ratio by weight of 50/50) at a concentration of 0.5 wt.% polyester P1 at a temperature of 25 .degree.C) and a melting point in the range from 50 to 170 .degree.C, and with the further proviso that from 0.01 to 5 mol% in relation to the mol ar quantity of the component (a1) used of compound D with at least three groups capable of forming esters are used to produce the polyesters P1, and other biodegradable polymers and thermoplastic moulding compounds and adhesives, biodegradable mouldings, foams and blendsw ith starch obtainable from the polymers or moulding compounds of the invention.

Abstract: A continuous vapor-phase fluidized-bed process for the preparation of ethylene homopolymers and copolymers having a density of from 0.87 to 0.97 g/cm in which ethylene or mixtures of ethylene and C3-C8 a-monoolefins are (co)polymerized in the presence of a supported chromium catalyst in the polymerization zone of a vapor-phase fluidized-bed reactor under pressures ranging from 1 to 100 bar and at temperatures ranging from 30° to 125° C. in the vapor phase in an agitated bed of bulk material comprising particulate polymer, the resultant heat of polymerization is removed by cooling the recirculated reactor gas and the resulting (co)polymer is removed from the vapor-phase fluidized-bed reactor, wherein, for the preparation of a (co)polymer of a specific density d, the (co)polymerization is carried out at a temperature which is in a range restricted by an upper envelope defined by equation Iand a lower envelope defined by equation IIin which the variables have the following meanings:TH is the highest reaction temperature in ° C.;TL is the lowest reaction temperature in ° C.;d' is the numerical value of the density d of the (co)polymer to be synthesized.

Abstract: Continuous gas phase polymerization for producing ethylene homopolymers and -copolymers, comprises polymerizing ethylene or monoolefin from but-1-en, pent-1-en, 2-methylpentene, hex-1-en, hept-1-en and oct-1-en in the a polymerization reactor; and endowing a catalyst poison with boiling point higher than a circle gas pipeline, and molecular weight greater than 100 g/mol at a position after the reactor, but before the cooler and compressor. Continuous gas phase polymerization for producing ethylene homopolymers and -copolymers, comprises polymerizing ethylene and/or monoolefin from but-1-en, pent-1-en, 2-methylpentene, hex-1-en, hept-1-en or oct-1-en, in the polymerization zone of a gas phase polymerization reactor at 30-125[deg]C and 1-100 bar in the gaseous phase in a finely divided polymer bed, in the presence of a metallocene catalyst in carrier form polymer, where a reactor gas is lead into the circle gas pipeline for the removal of the polymerization heat; and endowing a catalyst poison with boiling point higher than circle gas pipeline and molecular weight greater than 100 g/mol at a position after the reactor but before the cooler and compressor, for preventing polymer linings, such that the productivity of the catalyst is not essentially affected in the reactor.
