    Abstract: Mixtures of sulfurous triazine compounds and methods of preparing these compounds with the general formula I in which R1, R2=H,R2=benzyl, R2, R3, R4=C1-C8-alkyl, allyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, the latter unsubstituted or substituted with 1-3 methyl groups, 2-hydroxyethyl, 3-hydroxypropyl, 2-hydroxypropyl or R3 and R4 (together): C4-C6-alkylene, -(CH2-CHX)2 Y with X=H, CH3, Y=O,S, Sa: Polysulfide chain with 2-10 S atoms (i.e. 2 I in which R1, R2, R3, R4 have the meanings indicated above is reacted with an ammonium polysulfide or alkali polysulfide and dissolved in a protic polar solvent, especially water, at a temperature of 80 DEG to 140 DEG C.

    Abstract: There are described luminescent materials based on zinc silicate activated with manganese which are not sensitive to impurities are not susceptible to pulverizing, are temperature stable, and are stable to the customary ceramic glazes.     Abstract: There are described luminescent glasses having the following compositions (a) 0 to 80 mole % alkali metal oxide (sodium oxide, potassium oxide, lithium oxide), individually or several together, 0 to 30 mole % alkaline earth metal oxide (magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, strontium oxide, barium oxide), individually or several together, and at least 2 mole % of alkali metal oxide and/or alkaline earth metal oxide must be present (b) 7 to 90 mole % silica 1 to 50 mole % boron oxide (B2O3) 1 to 30 mole % aluminum oxide (c) 0.1 to 5 mole % lead oxide (PbO) 0.1 to 10 mole % vandium pentoxide (V2O5). The glasses have white, yellow, or blue luminescence, depending on the PbO and V2O5 content, at excitation with a wave length of 254 nm.
