Abstract: Disclosed is a method of cleaning ware comprising: contacting the ware in an automatic ware washing machine with an aqueous composition consisting essentially of water and a water soluble magnesium salt; wherein the aqueous composition during contacting comprises magnesium ion in a molar amount equal to or in excess over a molar amount of calcium ion; recovering the ware with an acceptable amount of hard water spotting. Also disclosed is an aqueous hard surface cleaner composition consisting essentially of water and a water soluble magnesium salt; wherein a diluted form of the composition comprises the magnesium ion in a molar amount equal to or in excess over a molar amount of calcium ion; and the composition is substantially free of chelating agent, surfactant, and sheeting agent.

Abstract: The warewashing detergent composition includes a cleaning agent, and a corrosion inhibitor. The cleaning agent comprises a detersive amount of a surfactant. The corrosion inhibitor includes a source of aluminum ion and a source of zinc ion in a weight ratio of at least 2:1. The relative amounts of the source of zinc ion and the source of aluminum ion can be controlled to reduce visible filming when the warewashing detergent composition is used in the presence of hard water. Methods for using and manufacturing a warewashing detergent composition are provided.

Abstract: A method for creating ready-to-use products from a concentrated form of the products for sale at a retail price is disclosed. The apparatus to crate the ready-to-use products generally comprises a source of one or more concentrat ed products (32, 34, 36). These concentrated products (32, 34, 36) are delivere d to a point of use which typically may be a small, consumer-sized refillable container (20). The refillable container (20) comprises an identifier (22, 5 4) having a first condition indicative of the refillable container (20) and a second condition indicative of refilling the container (20). The apparatus (10) dilutes the concentrated product to an appropriate level. The final, ready-to-use product can be a wide variety of cleaning products. The method provides for a larger profit to the retailer than normally available from th e sale of pre-filled cleaning products.
