Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain sulfur-containing fire-resistant yarn having improved alkali resistance and toughness continuously, by making yarn precursor fire resistant in a hot oxidizing gas atmosphere containing a poisonous gas component. CONSTITUTION:Fire-resistant treatment is continuously advanced by rotating a roller group 3a-3c and a roller group 4a-4c in a fire-resistant furnace 2 while a yarn precursor 1 is alternately passed through chambers B constituting an inert gas atmosphere system 6 surrounding the roller group 3a-3c and the roller group 4a-4c opposingly set and a chamber A constituting an oxidizing poisonous gas atmosphere system 5. The oxidizing poisonous gas atmosphere system 5 is separated from the inert gas atmosphere system 6 by a partition wall 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable compactness of equipment and efficient manufacturing, by a method wherein at the time of manufacturing of a sheet by making use of a mixture of resin or a monomer with a filler whose specific gravity is different from each other, a mixture extruded through a slit is made to cure while the mixture is being made to run in a vertical direction and the same is unloaded in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a resin filler is extruded through a slit and led to a double belt 2. The same 2 is made to cure by heating and cooling the same while the same is being passed through the belt 2. The cured sheet is bent in a horizontal direction by a roll 3. In this instance, the diameter of the roll 3 is made into a favorable size appropriately according to hardness of the cured sheet. Then even if various treatment is applied to the sheet by a double belt 4 while the sheet is being moved horizontally, it does not happen that the filler is sunk or lifted as the resin has already cured once. A building in which facilities are held can be made low and operation is very easy as the sheet moves in the horizontal direction, by leading the sheet to a horizontal state from a vertical state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a homogeneous fiber reinforced metallic composite material of high strength with high productivity by upsetting a preform consisting of reinforcing fibers and a base metal after or while heating so as to compound the components and to form them into a desired shape. CONSTITUTION:A base metal in the form of powder, granules, foil or the like is mixed with short reinforcing fibers and sealed in a metallic vessel to form a preform. This preform is upset with an upsetting machine after or while heating to a temp. above the m.p. of the base metal by >=150 deg.C. The reinforcing fibers and the base metal are compounded and formed into a desired shape to manufacture a fiber reinforced metallic composite material.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen unevenness of yarn occurring in yarn, by setting a feed port and a suction port of heating fluid at a yarn inlet and a yarn outlet at both the ends of a heating column surrounded by insulating jacket, respectively. CONSTITUTION:At both the ends of the heating column 1 surrounded by the insulating jacket 3, the yarn inlet 7 and the yarn outlet 8 having a cross-section more tightened than a cross-section of the heat-treating zone 2 are set. The feeding port 9 of heating fluid is laid at the yarn inlet, and the suction port 12 of heating fluid at the yarn outlet. The heating medium blown from the feeding port 9 is made to flow in the traveling direction of the yarn Y, and it is forcibly sucked from the suction port 12, to prevent shaking of the yarn.
