    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve disadvantages possessed by a high-strength and high-modulus fiber composed of a molten liquid crystal-forming polyester in that the high-strength and high-modulus fiber is readily fibrillated by friction and the fatigue resistance is low, etc., and supply a fiber having excellent operating performances. SOLUTION: In this high-strength conjugated fiber a core component is composed of a molten liquid crystal-forming polyester and a sheath component is composed of >=80 mol% of polycyclohexanedimethanol terephthalate in (90/10) to (50/50) conjugated ratio of the fiber.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a partially oriented undrawn yarn of polyester having suppressed orientation in spinning and improved spinnability and drawing ratio. SOLUTION: This partially oriented undrawn yarn of polyester comprises a copolyester which is copolymerized with a polyalkylene glycol and satisfies (1) the number-average molecular weight of the polyalkylene glycol is 400-20,000, (2) the amount of the polyalkylene glycol added is 3.0-15.0 wt.% in a ratio to the formed polyester, (3) the intrinsic viscosity [η] of the polyester is 0.65-0.85 (dl/g) and (4) the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of the polyester is >=40,000, the Z-average molecular weight (Mx) is >=75,000 and polydispersity (Mz/Mw) is 1.90 and has 0.015-0.060 double refractive index.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a partially hollow polyester yarn excellent in process passableness for forming a fabric capable of solving defects and excellent in touch feeling and fabric surface aesthetic properties and further excellent in lightweight and heat insulating properties and to provide a method for producing the partially hollow polyester yarn. SOLUTION: This partially hollow polyester yarn is characterized in that the yarn is a core-sheath conjugate yarn comprising (A) a polymer which is substantially a polyester and arranged in a sheath part and (B) a polymer having a greater temperature dependence of elongational viscosity than that of the polymer (A) and arranged in an amount of 1-15 wt.% based on the total weight of the core-sheath conjugate yarn in a core part, the polymer (B) arranged in the core part is cut to partially form hollow parts, the length of solid parts is 10-100 μm on the average, the length of the hollow parts is 5-100 μm on the average, the strength is >=3.0 cN/dtex and the elongation is 20-50%.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a scum, to enhance a strength, modulus and mesh adapted to precise printing by using composite monofilaments each having a core of a polyethylene terephthalate and a sheath of a polypropylene terephthalate as at least warps. SOLUTION: This screen gauze is formed of a woven fabric using a core and sheath type composite monofilament having a polyester for forming a core formed from a polyethylene terephthalate and a polyester for forming a sheath from a polypropylene terephthalate as warps. According to this, no scum is brought about even under severe weaving conditions of the gauze by an operation of the polypropylene terephthalate, and a surface precipitation of an oligomer contained in the polymer can be suppressed through manufacturing steps and weaving finishing of the monofilaments. A high strength and a high elastic modulus can be performed by an operation of the polyethylene terephthalate.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out direct spinning and drawing of a polyester fiber and obtain the fiber excellent in quality without causing dyeing speck at a low cost by treating plural polyester fiber yarns, discharged from a spinneret, cooled and solidified under specific conditions. SOLUTION: The temperature in a yarn heating region and the passage time of yarns through a dry heat-treating device 6 are respectively regulated within the ranges of 300-1,000 deg.C and 0.01-0.035 sec to carry out the direct spinning and drawing of polyester fibers when introducing the plural polyester fiber yarns, discharged from a spinneret 1, cooled and solidified into the dry heat-treating device 6 installed between an unheated first roller 5 and an unheated roller 7, drawing the resultant yarns and then winding the yarns at >=4,000 m/min speed. The dry heat-treating device 6 preferably has plural heating regions for individually running the plural yarns and a part or all of the wall surfaces of the regions are preferably heated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide fiber capable of spinning for a long time without fiber braking and denier irregularities, excellent in heat resistance and chemical resistance and useful for filters by adding mix mixing a predetermined amount of an alkylenebis(alkanamide) with a polyphenylene sulfide and melting and spinning the mixture. SOLUTION: This polyphenylene sulfide fiber is obtained by adding 0.1-10 pts.wt. of an alkylenebis(alkanamide) such as ethylenebis(octadecanamide) to a polyphenylene sulfide, mixing, melting and spinning the mixture. The melt viscosity ηA of the polyphenylene sulfide added with the alkylenebis(alkanamide) at 290 deg.C and 1,000sec preferably satisfies the equations ηO×0.60 (7O is a melt viscosity of the corresponding polyphenylene sulfide at 290 deg.C and 1,000sec when the alkylenebis(alkanamide) is not added and mixed.).
